Booked this charming cottage last minute and so happy with our decision! Cutest house with all the amenities to feel like home! Loved walking to Kellyâs Cove and shopping in Camden! Waterfront is gorgeous and weather was perfect! Highly recommend! Will definitely stay here if we come
Back to Maine again!
This was a perfect, toasty warm, place for family to stay over the Christmas holiday. The open floor plan on the first floor is wonderful for communicating. The one year old enjoyed walking around this area. We enjoyed the big dinning table for meals, board games, and wrapping gifts. The beds were very comfortable. Two of the bedrooms have a water view in winter! The property managers are exceptionally attentive. They went above and beyond coming first thing in the morning to shovel snow!
Bayside is wonderful in the fall/winter season - very quiet, lovely views, nice walks on a variety of roads, interesting houses to look at. Our cottage was well situated, warm, comfortable beds, easy to use kitchen, 2 well-equipped bathrooms, quiet neighborhood. A small drawback was the lack of reading lamps in 2 of the 3 bedrooms, for those who like to read themselves to sleep. The Rinnai heater kept the downstairs quite warm and, as long as doors were open upstairs, the bedrooms were adequately warm. Washer, dryer and dishwasher were nice to have. We did not use the TV's - every room had one. Wi-Fi worked fine. The house was clean and ready for us.
The house is on a very quiet street facing the water. It is away from the busy Camden area but not too far.
The amenities were very good, and they were responsive to our one minor request.
My only complaint was that the shower door downstairs is VERY noisy.
I would stay here again.
Heidi and Bill have put a lot of care and love into their cottage. We were enchanted from the moment we walked in. It was spotlessly clean, spacious, well furnished and equipped. The beds were comfortable. We slept like babies. The hosts were very organised and gave us all the information we needed. At all times we felt that we could communicate with our hosts if we needed to. Of course, everything was so well planned that we didn't need to communicate with them except to thank them for all the little touches that made our family trip very relaxing and enjoyable. Thanks again Heidi and Bill.
We really liked staying here. It had everything we needed, was well-decorated, clean, comfortable, and spacious. The beds are very comfortable. The host communicates very well. We would definitely stay here again. Kerry D
We had a wonderful 3 night stay in Bayside, ME with our famiily of four. The cottage is in a great central location and within driving distance to Camden, Befast, Boothbay and Bar Harbor. The village of Bayside also has a great beach and playground for kids. The cottage is quite spacious with 3 bedrooms and was impeccably clean. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
The house is excellent for a vacation stay! So clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is great, friendly people and its great for bike riding or running. There are restaurants just up the road but the kitchen is a dream if you cook your own meals. One note for anyone with mobility issues: there are 3 stairs that have no railing so if you have a need for a railing, those 3 steps are tricky but there is a wall to help your balance. Overall this is a great house and you wonât regret it for a fun relax vacation!
I would use Vrbo more often (over hotels) if rentals were as well executed as this property. It was a perfect blend of meeting all needs and expectations and adding the little touchesâeverything you need without the clutter of too much.
Bonus: all doors and windows were screened, so we always left them open. Flowers and automated artificial gas lanterns were a nice touch.
The location is in a quiet bayside enclave hidden from the nearby, more bustling coastal towns. The neighboring seaside cottages and larger homes are obviously families that have been coming for years, and there is a strong sense of community.
There is a lovely "village" center where the pier, beach, "yacht club," and park are. A community center that programs a couple of weekly events is nearby. We saw a touring magician and collector's market there and mingled with seemingly the whole town. It's an easy walk to all of the above.
If you want restaurants, a supermarket, or shopping, you head out of the enclave and drive along Route 1 or visit neighboring Belfast. We also explored as far south as Rockland (Lobster Festival) and Camden.
The house was perfect for our family. Had everything we needed , comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen. Clean. Located in charming neighborhood. Close to many attractions. The Owner Heidi was easy to reach and very helpful. I would love to stay there again.
We liked the house and its location/ neighborhood overall. Beach is right across the road.Owner was nice and very responsive. We reached late in night and was not able to locate the house as google maps and given directions was not correct. But we managed to find it at the end using mailbox numbers.
Looked like house has been upgraded recently and it had everything which we needed but it have some room for improvements.
House needs cleaning as it was very dusty and had hairs everywhere including rooms and bathrooms. We had to clean closets to keep our stuff. There is Ac outside in upstair hallway and you have to keep room doors open for air, but it was not a deal breaker as owner provided fans in all room.
Clean place is our priority so that was a little disappointing but overall we had a nice stay.
