Chaleureuse maison sur 2 étages dans un petit village tranquille à quelques km de la mer. La cuisine est très bien équipée et permet de préparer des repas. Les communications sont rapides.

Cozy wee Cottage
Situated in a small village but very accessible by bus to all surrounding costal towns in the East Neuk of Fife. A cozy wee cottage with a private garden and dog friendly. All the residents are very friendly too. My only concern that is totally outwith the hosts control is the door opens to a narrow pavement where the village speed limit is 20 mph - that no-one adheres to!

A pleasant village cottage, ideal for a long weekend.
Overall a very good stay. A few points for consideration. We found the double bed mattress very uncomfortable. It would have been good if the bathroom door was lockable. The toilet seat needs to be fixed so it doesn't slide around!

Perfect in every way
We stayed in this delightful cottage for a week over our daughter’s graduation from St Andrews. Ideally located for exploring the East Neuk and one of the best equipped self catering establishments we have every stayed in. A real home from home with comfy beds, private sun trap garden and easy parking. We were made to feel very welcome and would definitely recommend and return. Five stars ⭐️

Great base
Property was clean and spacious. Plenty of hot water ,every kitchen utensil you could need. The garden is a sun trap, even in April. Wi FI fast, no issues. Although Colinsburgh doesn't have much it's a good base for exploring the East Neuk of Fife. Local shop is well stocked. Farm shop nearby, plenty of beaches within a short drive to explore. Our host was quick to answer any queries we had. We found the double bed a bit soft but we normally have a very firm mattress. Thought the property was good value and would be happy to return.

Lovely cosy holiday home
The pictures don't do the property justice. The home has such a nice, relaxed feel and is well equipped with everything you need. The fresh eggs and Easter treats were such a lovely touch also. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a lovely time!!

Dated cottage which needs a declutter and most of all a good clean. Looked like somebody had just left before we checked in. Filthy Bed sheets, stained towels, crisps packets under bed, broken curtain pole etc Would not recommened.

Perfect cottage for what I needed, stayed for 3 nights felt very at home. Didn't want to leave! Well equipped everything I needed. The 2 local shops had enough in them to get by, fresh veg aswell obviously not a huge choice but more than I expected and very friendly service. The road can be quite busy, but it's totally fine!

Lovely cottage and great host with cosy living room and well equipped kitchen diner.
We loved staying at this property. The log burner is the soul of the house. I managed to cook lots of nice homemade dishes for my children. There are a couple of things that could be renovated but it is very homely.

Cosy house, great host
I spent 3 weeks with 2 friends and my little dog at the house and, while I personally didn't like Colinsburgh (the traffic was pretty full-on and there is nothing there), it was a great house and a good place to use as a base to view the area. The beds were comfy, the house was toasty, the smart TV was good, the wood-burning stove was great, the internet was steady and the shower was hot. Although the road was quite busy, there was always a place to park and the locals were also really friendly. It was a just a short drive to walk my dog in the woods at Shell Bay or Elie Beach and there is a patch of woodland and a playing field just behind the house for quick local dog walks. You should check out the Andross Farm shop (which is fantastic) and the very popular Bowhouse which has lots of food and craft stalls. They are right near one another and not far away at all. Oh, and the host Maia is really nice. She's friendly, accommodating and very quick to respond. She left detailed instructions about the house as well as local recommendations. The house is in a good location for sightseeing and has everything you need for a comfortable stay.

The cottage was clean and comfortable. The lady renting the cottage was fabulous. She was responsive and friendly and provided easy to use and detailed instructions on how to use the features of the cottage. She also provided good (and correct) information on local restaurants and facilities.

Very comfortable, clean cottage with all the essentials needed for a home from home. Comfortable beds made for a great nights sleep. Situated on main road but this didn't detract from a fantastic holiday. Great base to visit The East Neuk. This was my second visit to the cottage. I will definitely return in the future.

Lovely cottage
We enjoyed a very relaxing weeks stay in the cottage. with our two dogs. The cottage is well equiped , comfortable , cosy and very central for exploring the beautiful East Neuk of Fife . There is a lovely walled cottage garden which was totally secure for the dogs. Despite being on a very busy stretch of road, we had no issues with parking. We enjoyed it so much we have now booked to go back later this year ! ps. loved the free range eggs, thank you !!

Enjoyed our stay.very well equipped , clean, cosy property.would definitely recommend . Oscar,our dog also enjoyed his stay but he wasn’t too keen on the garden . He likes grass to lie on and there was none. It is also overgrown and not very inviting. Could do with a bit of tlc ( some paintwork needing done ) especially the banister. But saying that would stay again . Very central for touring area.

Wonderful Family break
We stayed for four nights with our two young children and dogs. The communication with Maia was fab and she answered all my queries in advance. I was unsure about the road situation but shouldn’t have worried. The road doesn’t affect the stay at all, parking is ample and it’s hardly a busy road. The cottage was lovely and clean and nice and cosy due to the hive heating. The kitchen was great for the family and at night we enjoyed the lovely log fire. The garden is not a manicured lawn but why would it be in a cottage such as this? It was secure for the kids and dogs. We did walks from the front of the cottage using the footpaths, there’s a great one just left if the cottage. We travelled all over from where we were even with the awful weather it didn’t dampen the mood of the stay. The washing machine was great to keep the kids clean and there was plenty of drying racks. We could do with another mat in from the kitchen when it’s wet but then again it’s laminate floor and dried easily. The bedrooms and are really spacious and comfortable. Thanks for the great stay.

Bathroom shower screen mouldy, curtain pole out to pattio doors not tightened fell on my head, garden not very tidy,very buisy road not safe for young children, having to bring very smelly rubbish bins in through house could do with a deep clean.

I'm so sorry you were unhappy. It's a shame you didn't get in touch with me at any stage, before, during or after your stay, so we could have discussed your issues and tried to put things right. I am always ready to help when there are problems. The cottage has has 2 deep cleans this year as well as weekly cleaning at each changeover. The garden was cut back entirely in the spring. Comfortable and well-equipped cottage
Very comfortable cottage with everything you need for a self catering holiday. Garden is a wee suntrap. Beds gave a wonderful sleep and the views from the upstairs are gorgeous. One tiny thing to mention is the very busy street. It seems to be a well used route and can be noisy. However, we closed all the windows at the front of the property and only used the rear ones. The location is perfect for touring around the East Neuk of Fife and beyond. Plenty to do and see. Thoroughly enjoyed our week. Will be back! Maia, our host was very helpful and easy to contact. Also, this property is pet friendly and our cat really enjoyed her break too!

Lovely homely cottage
From start to finish we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Easy access, communication with owner was 5☆ . The cottage is a home away from home, everything you need. We particularly enjoyed the log fire, logs and kindling available from the local garage at a very reasonable price. Our dog totaly enjoyed herself with lots of local beaches to play on and some stunning walks. Highly highly recommend if you want a quiet comfatable holiday. If we go back to same area we will definately be booking this cottage again.

Lovely cosy cottage
This was a lovely cosy cottage with a nice woodland walk for children and dogs just behind the village. The location makes it a great base for the surf and shops at St Andrews and seals at Tentsmuir Forest on one side and the beaches and harbours of Elie, St Monans and Pittenweem on the other.

The cottage was well equiped and clean. The garden however was very overgrown and in need of alot of attention . We tried to clear as much as we could but filled the brown bin. The trees need cutting back as they stopped alot of sun and llight coming in ,and also we could not put out washing as it caught on the branches. Also the out side back needed cleaning. The windows need attention but overall we had a lovely time

Thanks for helping with the garden Anne! It's all going to be cut down next week and tidied away. The windows are now all modern double glazed units. I'm glad you had a lovely time at the cottage. Do come again!

Family break away.
The property is warm and welcoming. Loved the wood burner. The garden is private and not overlooked, and a total sun trap. It is on the smaller side and has lots of plants which attracts all the wildlife, so nice to be woken up by the birds. The front road is busy but this is forgotten once inside. Lovely local walks.

Colinsborough itself is not more than a one street village, but it has a shop, a pub and a petrol station and is in an excellent location for going to the pretty villages on the south coast and also up to the sweeping beaches at St Andrews and Tentsmuir.

We can trust in homeway.
All was ok except the garden, it wasn't pleasant. Not cleaned, tall weeds and vegetation, about 1 square meter to use only, but always wet and humid cause the sun doesn't get in, due to all those "plants". Apart from that everything was perfect and maya always very promptly on awnsers. Thank you for the experience.

Thanks Patricia, you were unlucky with the weather as the garden is usually a suntrap. The plants do grow very fast in summer and we can't always get in to cut them back for each visit, but it is all neat now. Glad you enjoyed everything else.

We really enjoyed our few nights stay in Folly Cottage. The weather was cold and wet for 2 days, but the heating and log burner kept us nice and cosy. The cottage had all that we wanted and needed and was a super base for touring the East Neuk(on the days when it wasn’t raining). We would recommend this cottage especially to those people holidaying with a dog. The garden is very safe and secure and there are good walks just on the outskirts of the village.

Loved staying in this cosy cottage and great location to explore Fife Coast
Maia was wonderful right from the beginning and answered all my questions and on arrival the cottage had everything that we could need. The cottage was very warm and cosy due to a great heating system and the stove was a bonus! The rooms were a good size and the garden was helpful as we have a dog so could just let him out to stretch his legs. We were based in a great location that was 5 minutes drive from the coast, 20 minutes to St Andrews and very close to supermarkets and shops. We hope to return when the days get a little brighter and longer to explore again the amazing Fife Coast.

Comfy cottage but close to very busy road.
We had a great time at this lovely cottage. Lovely and cozy. Double bed very comfortable. Whilst the cottage is next to busy main road we had our grandkids (6 and 3) and did feel anxious when going in and out but then we're usually that way when watching them! Small back garden with seating area which was quite overgrown but then we were not going to sit out at this time of year and sure it'll be attended to for the warmer months. Would definitely visit this cottage again as it was central for visiting many of the Fife tourist attractions. Thank you again for letting us stay in your cottage.

Good base to stay for touring Fife.
We enjoyed our holiday and owner extremely helpful. It is obviously a 'work in progress' and can already see a lot of work has been done already. Heating makes it very cosy and super sitting room etc. Would book again.

Central for touring
The cottatage was cold on our arrival after a long journey from Wales. The central heating took a while to warm the house up, the house was warm and cosy for the rest of our stay. Fortunately we took milk, eggs etc. with us as there were no provisions provided as quoted in the fact sheet. The cottage is on a very busy road and drivers ignore the 20mph speed limit. It was too busy for us with traffic going through from as early as 5.30a.m. as we are used to living in a quiet location. We were not able to use the back garden on sunny evenings as it is overgrown. Despite this we thoroughly enjoyed touring around the East Neuk area with plenty of interesting places to visit.
