'Lovely hotel in a fabulous setting. The staff were really nice and could not do enough to make you feel welcome. The food on the main restaurant was excellent but the brasserie was poor (pub food at hotel prices and poorly presented). Overall we would highly recommend the hotel. Unfortunately Expedia cooked up the booking in the wrong name but the hotel staff soon sorted it out.'

Almost any facilities and extras you could want or need were already provided, with such care and attention to detail across all the areas. If there had been anything missing or not quite right (which there wasn't), then a quick ask would be all that's needed. 'I arrived after 5pm and had not realised Sykes cottages were dealing with the property. It took me two hours to get in because of email issues and also no one to get hold of after hours from Sykes. This needs looking into. The property itself was well worth the hassle I had been through and I will definitely go back for a second visit. It was clean and very quiet. Only issue was recycling I didn’t know what went where. Maybe a sheet telling you what to do. But apart from this would recommend.'

The rooms are exceptionally well set up with excellent facilities The private hot tub outside was a nice treat Breakfast was brought to the room at the requested time and did not disappoint The manor is a short walk into Grange and we would not hesitate in recommending'

'We stayed in room 11 which was lovely, decorated well and had a very large bathroom with a free standing bath. Breakfast was great with a good choice. Lisa was extremely helpful and having the option to be taken and brought back from nearby restaurants was an added touch, as well as the electric charging points'

'The pub was closed so self check in! Room had aroma of the open fire from downstairs even though not lit. No tv in room view was over the garbage area.'

'Top class rooms, entry, location. Very minor point, private terrace area could do with improved seating but we used our own camping chairs so not a problem. Tesco express a few yards away was excellent. An excellent spot to stay.'

'Lovely quiet location on the edge of Cartmel with good road connections to the tourist areas of the Lakes. The place was spotless and well equipped but they really do only include bedding, towels and loo roll. Whatever else you need make sure you take it with you. It lacked hanging space for clothes in the bedroom and any place to put your cases. We were surprised it was a semi detached building, we could hear a lot of noise, especially doors closing in the attached unit. I would still recommend...

'All the hotel staff were kind and helpful. The breakfast offered a surprisingly wide variety of dishes to choose from—so much so that it was hard to decide—and everything was delicious. The room was compact but had everything we needed and was clean. However, opinions may differ when it comes to the interior design.'
