500 square feet Apartment with 10 foot ceilings, comes with queen bed in separate bedroom, queen size pull out sofa bed in living room with memory foam mattress, washer dryer, full equipped kitchenette, free parking and free Wifi. We offer a yoga mat, beach umbrella, beach towels, cooler and beach chairs.

This unique private Apartment will allow you to enjoy the best Kailua has to offer without an extraordinary price tag. Perfectly located between beach and town, providing easy walking access to all Kailua has to offer.

This deluxe 1 BR Cottage with queen bed & queen sleeper couch is just 1 1/2 blocks off the best part of world class Kailua beach.

The Cottage is newly renovated with a spacious living room, the master bedroom comes with a queen bed, new pillows, fine linen, new ceiling fan and a large closet.
The bathroom is equipped with a shower, toilet and sink. The shower panel has a built-in rainfall shower head, body spray jet, and a handheld shower wand.

The Living room couch pulls out into a queen bed.
A Smart-TV, Ceiling & stand-up Fan, fast reliable internet and more closet space in the hallway was added for your comfort.

Two other parties live on the property: A family of four with two young children in the main house and a young married couple in the back cottage.

You can cook using the two burner cook top, the microwave, rice cooker, toaster, or enjoy a cup of coffee or espresso. We added a refrigerator and freezer, hand blender, electric water heater plus a washer and dryer for your convenience.
There are several frying pan's plus one large one with a lid, 2 pots and and a very good selection of kitchen tools to prepare a meal. There is a complete set of small and large plates, small and large bowls, several platters, cups, water glasses, wine glasses, smoothie cups, silver ware...

Short 5 minute walk to Kailua town center where you can find several grocery stores like WholeFoods, Foodland Safeway and Times Supermarket.
Kailua offers unique boutiques, a Target and tons of excellent restaurants and bars.

Kailua is a beautiful beach town! With fabulous dining, shopping and activity choices - one never gets bored here. Kailua and Lanikai beach are huge highlights of our town, but there are also amazing eating and unique shopping experiences as well.

The Beach
A long, graceful bay protected by a coral reef is Kailua’s delight. The nearly 4-mile-long stretch of ivory sand is made for strolling, and the weather and wave conditions can be just about perfect for swimming, kayaking, windsurfing and kitesurfing. South along the shore lies the exclusive enclave of Lanikai, with million-dollar views – and mansions to match.

We would recommend a car, however Oahu is known for its amazing bus system with stops that can take you all over the island. Bus stop is just a few hundred feet away.

We ask that you do not smoke inside and please be courteous of noise after 10 PM.

    Absolutely Fabulous

    My wife and I loved Hula Girl Cottage. It was a perfect base from which to launch our week of island adventures. It's comfortable and clean with easy access to a multitude of amenities, and so close to the beach. Highly recommend!

    Nice location and beautiful, clean for the place to stay

    It was a very good and comfortable stay for a week with friends. We thank to Barbara and her family, such an honest hospitality. Surrounded by a quiet atmosphere, near the park and 10 mins walk to the Kailua beach. We often go to see the sun rising there in the early morning . Kitchen, bathroom, living room and a private room are very clean and well maintained! I indeed recommend this Hula Girl Cottage for staying in Kailua!

    Perfect Island Getaway

    We loved our week-long stay at the Barbara and James’ tucked-away guest quarters. It is 10 min walk from Kailua Beach Park and a 10 min walk to downtown Kailua. Perfect! The neighborhood is quiet, the quarters are clean and bright and the side yard outside has lovely plantings. We made good use of the provided beach towels, chairs, snorkel gear, and boogie boards. The kitchenette is nicely supplied, too, and the washer/dryer was much appreciated as we packed light. The portable drying rack was perfect for beach towels and swim gear. We will definitely be back at this property! Mahalo!

    This was an amazing place to stay!!

    We stayed at the Hula Girl Cottage for a week and it couldn't have been more perfect. We rented a vehicle, and there was parking right on the property so we were never searching for a spot. The bed was very comfortable, and the rental was very spacious. It had everything you would need on vacation. We got a lot of use out of the beach chairs, beach towels, and cooler. If you want to cook, the kitchen was well stocked with appliances. The full size fridge also came in handy! The space was also very clean. It in a perfect location, as you can walk to the beach if you want; or walk to go out to eat. We never got to meet Barbara, but we met James when we arrived and before we left and he was very nice and made sure we had everything we need. When we come back to Hawaii we will definitely be coming back! It was an absolutely lovely place to spend our vacation!

    Christmas and New Years in Hawaii

    The Hula Girl is a very comfortable apartment and is close to shopping, grocery stores, restaurants and the beach. Barbara is a super owner and is willing to help newcomers with information and activities. We were delayed arriving on Christmas Eve. All of the grocery stores and restaurants were closed so we had to no food. Barbara graciously shared their Christmas dinner with us. It was delicious!! The apartment is nicely equipped, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. I would highly recommend renting this apartment for your stay in the Kailua area.

    Feels like we live in Hawaii.

    This was our first time stating outside of the Waikiki area. We were worried that this was too far away from all the shops and restaurants in Waikiki. But if you have a car, it's just a short drive. This unit is about 10min walk to the beach and 5min drive to stores and markets. Lanikai beach is also very close so we really enjoyed the location. The unit also has everything we needed. When it was hot, the ceiling fan was enough and the high ceiling along with the natural breeze was very comfortable. I wish the bed was bigger, but it's very comfortable. Living in the residential area really made us feel like we live in Hawaii. The washer and dryer are very noisy, it didn't bother us, but we felt bad about doing laundry at night. We would definitely want to stay here again.

    Beautiful house, wonderful location

    We were blown away at how charming (and clean!) the Hula Girl Cottage was. It was the perfect size for our family (2 adults 1 toddler) but I could see it being a great fit for a larger family because of the pull out couch (which we used one night). Even though the unit was attached to the main house, it was very private and we never heard/were disturbed by our hosts (important for naptime!) The kitchenette and washer/dryer were a lifesaver on our stay. Every kitchen item and beach item we could have wanted was included in the house. Mr. & Mrs. Wilson are so friendly, and their dog Eddie is charming. The house is a 15ish minuet walk (with a stroller) to the shopping/grocery/commercial area of Kailua. There is a little park with a playground for kids across the street. And the beach is a 15ish minuets (again with a stroller) walk away!! We will be back!!
