'We booked same day and had a room on the second floor with a king bed and balcony view right over the water! A beautiful view & the sound of the ocean was incredible to sleep to. Quiet cleaning service in the morning that doesn’t start until around 8:30-9am. For an older building, it’s well taken care of and very clean. Close to downtown Hilo, but fairly secluded from city traffic. Will definitely stay again! '

'Pros: This is our first time staying at a lodge like this, so close to nature, just like camping. You will hear coqui frog whole night & seeing them jumping next to your door step. Animals free roaming, peacocks, ducks, chicken. Kids loved it. Cons: There is barely any light at night in the Property…so if you come back late, it’s a bit challenging to find your cabin.'

'Nice big room. A bit eclectic i, but very clean and comfortable. Although there is no A/C it was cool enough at night that it wasn't necessary as long as there was a fan blowing. Still, It felt quite humid and towels, etc did not dry out. It was very nice to have a good coffee maker, refrigerator/freezer, and microwave, plus a couple place settings with metal utensils. Everything seemed relatively recently updated. The bathroom was nice and big. Overall a great experience and would be happy to...

'Aantal km's oprijlaan, maar dan een heerlijk rustgevende plek met mooie vallei en aantal watervallen daarin, bij grootste waterval ook zwemmogelijkheid, personeel erg vriendelijk, lekker ontbijt op fraai terras, matrassen uitstekend, zelfs hardheid regelbaar, ook beschikking over gedeelde keuken. Kortom zeer fraaie rustgevende plek'

'We didn't get a chance to try the hot tub but the grounds are beautiful and all staff at lodge and restaurant were kind and helpful. Food was delicious and proximity to Kilauea volcano sights was super convenient. Hope to come back again soon!'

'VFI is very close to Volcano National Park and it was the main reason why we chose to stay here. The house is nestled in the rainforest with a short drive from the main road so its very quiet. Our room is spacious with many windows facing the rainforest and a big patio. Our room is comfortable and pleasant. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. The host, Jon, is also a very nice guy and approachable. Breakfast is a grab and go and has plenty of fresh fruits which is a bonus! '
