Kicking Horse Cabin Retreat

This idyllic custom log home is perfect for your vacation retreat, for winter, spring, summer and fall!! Note summer activities include gondola to top of mountain for hiking and mountain biking, as well as chair lift to the 'Grizzly bear refuge'. Close by are fishing, golfing, white water rafting on the Grade 4 rated Kicking Horse river.

We are proud to offer our wonderful recreation home, located on the AWESOME ski hill, of Kicking Horse Mountain resort for rent for your short term vacation needs. This great location provides ski in and ski out accommodation for the more adventurous and is also conveniently located near a ski lift. This log based home features outstanding cathedral ceilings, with log beams galore and lots of huge windows to maximize the beautiful surroundings. The main floor features a large fully equipped kitchen and large dining table, and also breakfast bar seating. Main floor also features slate fireplace with gas fire and sitting area.


Laundry and washroom also on main floor.

Accommodation includes on the upper floor, a large master bedroom with private balcony and with large 4 piece master ensuite. Main bath on upper floor with a second bedroom featuring awesome log bunk beds- queen size bed on base and double above. Also on the upper level, you will find a large open relaxing space and a loft area featuring another bunk bed, double size (also featuring as a day bed- to use with TV/PS3 system) and with single bed above. The basement offers an additional retreat, with a large bedroom with large bright window and a set of double bunk beds. Another bathroom (shower room) and also sitting room/TV room.

Amazing views from every window, and outside features a deck , leading to private eight man hot tub surrounded by trees for the perfect end to a great day.

This is an ideal location, being just a few minutes walk to the local pub and restaurants, and for those special occasions, take the gondola to the top of the mountain and enjoy the awesome dining experience , 'on top of the world' at the Eagles Eye Restaurant.

We had a wonderful 3-night stay in Golden with our group of six adults. The home was well-appointed and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. It felt homey with thoughtful touches throughout that made our stay extra enjoyable. The location was peaceful for relaxing at the end of a long day visiting the local National Parks. It was easy to communicate with the owners. We can see where this home and location would also be ideal for the skiing season. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to others!

Beautiful house in a lovely area

We have had a wonderful stay in this property. The house is beautiful and lovely and warm. The kitchen is well equipped with anything you could need. The communication with the host was easy. We didn't use the hot tub because there was an abundance of mosquitoes directly outside the properly (there's nothing the property can do about this but it should be noted for future visitors). The area is lovely and we were even fortunate to see a family of bears on the road up to the house. We would definitely recommend and would visit again.

Amazing house from which to explore the rockies.

Absolutely fantastic house which we used as a base for part of our family trip through the rockies. Massive space, extremely clean & comfortable, very well equipped and lovely location. Host was extremely helpful so would highly recommended.

Great location, great house for big groups

Group of 4 couples who get together each year for an annual ski trip- we loved that everyone had their own space, but also lots of space where we could hang together. Great skiing, with ski out trail just across the road. Beautiful and well stocked kitchen with everything one would expect. Very nice that use of the garage is included. Hot tub could use better access as we always felt like we tracked dirt into it, even trying not to. Also would've been nice to have bath towels provided, kind of wierd that they arent- even face cloths, etc arent included. Otherwise we had a grreat time.

Kicking Horse is Rad

This was an awesome place to stay. The house is great, layout is great, amenities are great.You can tell the owners really love their house. I really enjoyed our stay here. The ski-in/ski-out was extra nice. The kitchen is well appointed which is good since it is a bit of a drive to Golden.

Golden Ultra Trip 2024

My husband and daughter and I stayed here when she participated in the Golden Ultra which had stages both in Golden and at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. It was a very convenient location. The kitchen was well set up for cooking and we enjoyed relaxing in the great room between events. The bathrooms have been recently updated and the finishings make it seem like home. We would definitely come again.

Great Family Getaway

My top 2 favourite things were the hot tub and the beds! I never sleep well away from home and I slept like a rock!!! All of the amenities we needed were there. The hosts were so quick to respond to questions. We would definitely stay there again!!

In Heaven!

Our Family was in heaven at Mel's ski in and out property! In march we could ski from the garage down the frozen driveway and over the frozen little street thar is Purcel Woods. From there you crossn1 street (5 meters) and are skiing downhill to the base/gondola. The house was perfect. With a queen bed and three sets ofnl bunkbeds we didnt even need the pull out couch. The hot tub worked great as did everything else. Loved our time and hope to be back soon.

We had a great time at Mel's place. Location was great, house was well stocked w games, toiletries and kitchen items (note bath towels are not provided). Great hot tub and layout. Garage is super convenient for storage and changing in and out of ski gear. Would recommend and return.
