Chalet Village sits on the mountain above Gatlinburg, about 10 minutes (~3 mi) down to downtown. It is a real neighborhood, with homes close by and quiet nights. For a fall or winter trip, our picks are Anakeesta and Ripley's Aquarium (both ~10 min), SkyLift Park and the SkyBridge (~15 min), the Arts & Crafts Community (~15 min) and Sugarlands Visitor Center for the national park (~15 min). One caveat: the roads up are steep with tight turns, so give yourself extra time after snow or ice.
