'Small scale Bed & Breakfast overlooking Tarbert harbor. Nice rooms, with a smallish but complete bathroom. Alistair, our host, cooked us a lovely breakfast. Excellent starting or finish point for the boat trip to/from Islay.'

'Expedia does not tell you they don’t answer phone calls from foreign numbers & they have no front desk/ staff on site so only way to communicate is thru Expedia. I couldn’t get continental breakfast because Expedia blocks emails & they couldn’t send me payment link. No food or beverage available on site or within walking distance. Food delivery was lame, cash only & no utensils. Decent shower, bed & wifi'

'The staff were very helpful and obliging; the room was comfortable and had a sea view. It also had a TV, which was not advertised on the website - an omission which should perhaps be rectified. As to breakfast, I was a bit disappointed that there was no fruit available as an option - but no objections were raised when I brought in my own supplies. Despite a fair being in operation on the green opposite, it was very quiet - EXCEPT on the Friday night when there was a function with loud music on...

'I moved to this hotel because they told me they had a working fan and a view of the sea with adequate sea breeze to cool off the room. The room was extremely warm and the fan did not work very well and I had to stay there for two nights with an extremely warm room also the the hotel is a bit rundown and the carpet in the room had stains.'
