'Excellent stay at the River House Lodge. Our host Tim was a very accommodating and gracious host. He went out of his way to show us the local attractions and teach us the history of this area. 'This was a weekend get away for me and my adult sons. I had spent a lot of time in WV (mostly caving) when I was in my 20's like them and love the area. We had a wonderful time and the Bear Valley Cabin was our home away from home. The house had everything we needed including a grill for our foil packs and steaks, a fire pit to sit around at night as well as the chairs with oil lamp to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds in the morning and evening. 'Beautiful location! Sorta close to grocery & gas. Resort may have food store. Didn’t check. Looks fantastic inside. Paneling design great. Plenty of room for family or separate space. Great front porch. Great covered deck with table in back. '

'First, Jeff is an amazing host. So much thought put into his guests comfort and feeling of “home”. Our group absolutely loved it. So clean, cozy, and functional!! It was convenient to everything we needed to have access too and the back yard was amazing for watching wildlife! We would definitely stay here again! '

'Absolutely perfect! This location was close to Wisp Resort and Deep Creek in MD, but was much more reasonable in price. It was a lovely atmosphere outside, and very homey and cozy inside. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND! '

'This cabin was the perfect escape! It struck the ideal balance between comfort and nature- exactly what you'd want fora relaxing stay at Alpine Lake. The home was incredibly well-stocked with everything from towels and dishes to cleaning supplies, spices, and extra linens. It made settling in so easy. 'This was the third year that we stayed at the cabin.We have consistently been happy.The only disappointment was, the first several days of the week were very warm, I would have liked to been able to turn on the fan on the first floor living space to lower the temperature in the upper bedrooms ( the remote to control the fan is missing)Besides this, which was Not really a big issue, everything else was close to perfect.Thanks for any enjoyable stay!'

The house was clean and had everything that we needed. The resort was nice, and there’s a lot of hikes within a short distance. 'Perfect for our Rest and Relax vacation. Very quiet area with lost of wild life present. The Mountains are Happy Place and Deer Ridge didn't disappoint. Hope to say again next year.'
