« This was a very lovely place to stay! Our group of 7 really enjoyed the little house. Could not have picked a better place to stay! The property was super clean, made it feel super homey and safe! When we come back to Welch I would love to stay here again! Thank you to the host for helping us make wonderful memories together! »

« The cabin was very nice and enjoyed it. The area is definitely sad. Not really anywhere to eat, very limited on groceries. A very poor area to say the least. I feel bad for the people there because their livelihood was taken from them when the government stop coil from being produced. »

« Overall an average place to stay. Lag in communication with host (we didn’t have internet for one day of the stay, which was very frustrating in a non service area.) After a second attempt to contact the host 24 hrs later, they were prompt and it was an easy fix. Exterior: The outside yard needs some TLC and the propane grill igniter didn't work. « The house was very nice inside. The neighboring houses are condemned. Getting a trailer in and out of the drive was a challenge as the drive is narrow and the train bridge obstructs view of the road. The property is located next to train tracks and trains entering the tunnel sound the horn at all hours. The trains are loud coal trains that run frequently. « Property is nicely located on the western side of the country and worked great for the research study we were in McDowell for. One of the nicer properties we’ve stayed at in the area. Also, the owner is local which was a big plus for us! »
