'I have to say, first up, the bed was the best I have ever slept in. The mattess, pillows...just wonderful. The room was immaculate. We were upgraded to a deluxe room. It was beautifully furnished. Not your standard hotel room. You can see the fittings and the flooring were all chosen to reflect the elegance of this former stately home. The restaurant, bar and garden were beautiful. 'The Hotel is OK, but the room had no proper windows, only wooden shutters. As a consequence, insulation was extremely poor and there was no way to get sunlight in without getting also air AND noise in the room. Breakfast was fine (not exceptionally good nor bad), but the dining room not particularly welcoming. In fact, the nicest space is the reception... '

'Perfect hotel om veilig in San Jose te verblijven. Je hebt wel transfer nodig naar het vliegveld of elders aangezien het hotel op enige afstand van het vliegveld ligt. Restaurant en bar verrassend goede prijs / kwaliteit verhouding zelfs in vergelijking met de restaurants door het land heen.'

'Een prachtig sfeervol oud gebouw vol met gangetjes en trappetjes. Zeer vriendelijk personeel en schoon. Prima voor een paar dagen San José. De locatie is een beetje er tussen in. Eigenlijk te ver van het vliegveld en ook net iets te ver om te lopen vanuit het centrum, maar als je een rustige plek in de stad zoekt en dat geen probleem is, is dit de perfecte locatie. Goed ontbijt, hartelijke ontvangst.'

'Great relaxing place with perfect beach! The room - 2 queen beds - was big enough for us (2 adults and 2 teens) and had a great seaview. Friendly staff and a good restaurant serving good breakfast. One beach further down the road is Las Catalinnas with a great restaurant (Limonade) as well and a rental place for bikes, peddle boards, snorkels, ... everything for a perfect day at the beach.'
