'Great location, fabulous views of the rolling hills and loch, together with a real sense of 'getting away from it all'. The downstairs of the cottage was cosy and adequately equipped. We particularly enjoyed the open fire that was set up ready to go, we only had to light it and there was plenty of spare wood to burn. A point for our own learning is that next time we will select somewhere that does not welcome pets as many parts of the upstairs did smell like dogs were there before us. So much so...

'A lovely little Cottage to stay in, it was well situated for reaching all the main coastal areas with ease. We really enjoyed our stay thanks.One little point in which we felt was needed. A simple pint of milk as a kind gesture in the fridge as must have. A cuppa was needed after a very long journey. Other than that it was suitably accommodating.Thank you.'

'We stayed for a week in February, and it was fabulous. The weather was a bit damp on and off, but the Grooms Bothy was always warm and welcoming. (I want underfloor heating!). It’s well equipped, close to Kelso for everything you need, and in a quiet and pretty location. The owners live next door, and a with their 2 little dogs are friendly and on hand if you need something. The welcome pack of milk, snacks and wine was a lovely touch.
