Hôtel près de Château d'Auckland (Bishop Auckland)

« This was a very old historical building in as good of a shape as it could be. Some uneven floors and a lot of steps to get to your room. It was small and quiet charming. The staff was pleasant and helpful. A bus stop was right out the side. Very pleasant. The bed was nice, no air conditioning, but it was fairly cool when we went in August, 2026. They had a fan. We are from Florida so the low 70's was a joy for us for August. »

« Property in good location , quiet and friendly environment. It may look as bit dated but very comfortable including accessible for kitchen , garden and TV programs. It’s worth for the money for sure Laura is very helpful and spot on with the communication. We were stayed for s week and wished we can come back again when needed . »

« Well this booking was made on the whole purpose of having a relaxing weekend after running 350km for charity over the past few months. So we booked here for the hot tub and the relevant ease of running a Park Run on the Saturday. After running this Park Run we returned back to the accommodation for our day of in and out of the hot tub. Although this turned out to be turned off so we had an ice bath, not advertised on the website. We then were told that we would get a nights refund for this...

« It was a very pleasant place to stay highly recommended. »

« Friendly welcome, super breakfast and excellent location »

« Ample parking. Amazing breakfast. Great views »

« Good size bedroom, excellent breakfast, great staff »

« Very accommodating and warm hosts. Excellent room with a very nice view. I loved this place and would go back again whenever I visit next. »

« Chambre cosy dans un quartier calme. Petit déjeuner inclus et copieux. Personnel très agréable. Seul bémol : l'hôtel est est assez excentré. A pieds, il faut un bon quart d'heure de grimpette pour y aller. Restaurant indien juste à côté. »

« Séjour d’une nuit pour visiter Durham. Hôtel spacieux et propre. Bon petit déjeuner. Un bon accueil. A recommander. »

« Quirky rooms but very unclean, tv was like watching a tv from 2010 terrible quality. »

« Great breakfast! »

« Cadre de l'hôtel dans vieux château. Mais décoration et aménagement de la chambre très basique et quelconque. Salle de bain minimaliste et vieillotte. Pas de place pour mettre les bagages. Restaurant et service très bien. »

« Unfortunately my wife had fairly bad illness during our stay, through no fault of the hotel, but I would like to praise the staff, especially the night manager for the assistance to transfer my wife to hospital. »
