This apartment was adorable and charming! The attention to detail and design features felt like I was staying in a much more upscale listing. They did a great job making sure it was a comfortable environment. As someone who lives in a very old home, I know how challenging it can be, especially in Summer, to keep things cool, but they seemed to have cracked the code there! I did reach out to the host regarding a mild tobacco smoke smell in the kitchen area. Gayla assured me that they are doing the best they can with special paints, ozone purifiers and air fresheners. And I do want to note it wasn't from a previous guest of theirs, but old tenants that occupied the building prior to their renovation. And I understand the smell can maybe come and go depending on the day, I just would have hoped for a small note in the listing about that possibility. The second day I also noticed the sink water in the bathroom smelled a bit sour. Again could just be an old home detail, but thankfully it wasn't consistent throughout my stay or occurring in the shower.Overall, it was a lovely experience! They didn't have a list of check-out chores, which was a blessing. Prior to booking, I was a tad nervous about sharing a building with other guests and traveling solo, but I was never concerned about my safety, and having extra locks on the doors was reassuring. It's a great spot to land that is close to Greensboro without the higher price of booking an entire house.
