'The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food and beer is good and great value. Parking is a bit tight, so arrive early if you are checking in! If you want to eat, make sure you reserve a table. We found out the hard way on Saturday lunchtime that you can't always get a meal, even if you are a resident. Other than that, it's a good place to stay. It's quiet at night due to the location and the fact that the bar isn't open until late.'

'Nice old location with a lot of character but a bed that is far from horizontal (much like the building) so sleeping was difficult but unfortunately one of the main issues for a hotel'

'Stayed in one of their attached cottages comfortable. Staff were attentive and polite food was very good. Continental breakfast was acceptable. If staying more than one night there is no room service so dishes had to be washed in the hand basin and dried with a bathroom towel.'

'A beautifully appointed and comfortable room in a quiet and convenient location in easy walking distance of the town centre. The owners had thought of everything a guest could possibly want and provided a very comprehensive information pack. Would definitely recommend.'
