dit was niet verwittigd er waren majeure dakwerken aan de gang met heelveel drukte lawaai overdag men moest wel weg !! ik logeerde op de 1ste verdieping en het zicht was meer dan bedroevend ter compensatie OMDAT IK ERNAAR VROEG , kreeg ik wel een ontbyt gratis pover al by al !! wifi enkel in de receptie is dezer dagen niet meer gepast ! alvast niet voor die ( europeese ) prys

We liked the convenience of this property, and the access you get for the beach right across the street is an added bonus. The bed was a bit hard on my back but we just stayed one night so not to bad.

This is one of the best hotel in the mainland. Worth the price. Restaurants, grocery store and matira beach is just a short walk. The beach bungalow is perfect for our little kids. The concierge/receptionist is very accommodating and hospitable. I forgot to get her name, but it was really sweet of her to give us a bunch of their local banana as we checked out, it was the sweetest banana we ever tasted in this whole trip.

We did 3 nights @ Maitai, then upgraded to the Intercontinental for 1 night. For the money, the Maitai over-the -water is a much better deal than the Intercontinental (almost twice as much). Free breakfast is a plus and most of the staff is friendly and helpful. Two thumbs up!

Great affordable hotel.
Very good buffet for breakfast with healthy choices. Good restaurant across the street, and others in the area. The staff is very helpful answering questions and making reservations for meals and excursions. Free snorkel equipment & beach towel. Walk across the street to the beach & snorkel or go on an excursion. We enjoyed the lagoonarium all day trip, for snorkeling, swimming with sharks and manta rays. 1/2 day also good. Happy hour 5:30-6:30 has $10.00 drinks and a good time to meet other people. The staff speaks mainly French and English, but there were anlso guests from many countries. Our room was up a hill, but very nice, good AC, a few things needed repair and staff were available for repairs. The shuttle goes twice a day to shops in Viatape, with beachwear, pearl shops and a small grocery store. Dress is casual. The humidity makes it feel warmer than it is. Eco friendly hotel. I would definitely stay again and I recommend it. Huts over the water available for a price.

Overall the experience was okay, but not the best. Staff are welcomed by the check in but later if you needed anything it’s hard to communicate or get what you requested. There’s no restaurant room service , you have to order and go and pick up which was not convenient at all. Restaurant by the beach is understaffed, the service is very slow. The manager is great to work with and gave us a great accommodation .

A little piece of paradise
The hotel staff were helpful and welcoming. We were greeted with a lei and a cool drink upon our arrival. On our day of check out we were able to store our luggage, go to the beach and use a shower near the lobby. The meals at the restaurant were delicious and my husband said the salmon pasta was the best meal of his life.

Schönes Zimmer im Wasserbungalow. Sauber und Ordentlich. Das Restaurant am Strand war geschlossen. Das andere war ein Frühstücksraum und dadurch sehr ungemütlich. Es lief schreckliche Musik. Es gab zum Frühstück wenig bis keine Lokalen Produkte. Kiwi und Äpfel? Die Insel ist voll von Mango-, Bananen- und Papayabäumen. Die Marmeladen sind hochwertig werden aber aus Europa eingeflogen obwohl es in jedem Supermarkt sehr gute lokale Marmeladen gibt. Das Personal war ok. Ich würde so ein teures Hotel nicht empfehlen.

Flott opphold på Hotel Matai
Hotellet var alt vi trengte. Veldig god beliggenhet. Hadde en fin bungalow ved stranden , ingen svømmebasseng, men trengte ikke det med så nydelig Strand og sjø rett på utsiden.Bra frokost inkludert. Flink og hjelpsom personal hele tiden, som jobbet veldig hardt . Følte meg virkelig velkommen. Vil reise tilbake ditt. Kan anbefaler

Un très bon séjour.
Pour un hôtel, deux étoiles, il est d’un luxe inouï ! On n’ arrive pas bien à comprendre pourquoi il a que deux étoiles il en mériterait au moins trois. La plage est petite, mais très bien entretenue avec des coraux et plein de poissons.

Over water bungalows had large outdoor decks and swim platforms. Artificial coral reefs allowed excellent snorkeling from our room. We saw two stingrays and lots of tropical fish.

It’s a good place to stay without the higher prices of other options. I stayed there because I wanted to spend more money on doing tours and other activities. There is a beach in front of the hotel but it wasn’t appealing. However, it’s a 10-15 minute walk to Maitra beach which is much better.

Bucket list #1 done! Overwater bungalows are so dreamy. Love that we could swim right outside the deck and there’s fish everywhere. Staff are friendly. Cutest boutique with the best prices in the island. It was so hard to leave this place!

This is a good spot if you want to be close to town and be over the water in a reasonably priced Bungalow. Snorkeling right off your dock is wonderful and like your swimming in an aquarium. The full service buffet breakfast is well situated with tons of choices and wonderful coffee. The office staff is very helpful. We had a wonderful time. Look for the welcome surprise in your room - its yummy

The staff was very welcoming and always available to answer any questions. Out our entire stay in French Polynesia, our stay at Maitai was the best experience. We've already recommended this place to others and would stay there again if we ever return. My only recommendation is to make improvements to the breakfast, the savory items were either dry or overcooked but the fruit was sweet and delicious. Overall a great stay and the breakfast did not deter us. Thank you so much for the warm welcome and sendoff!

The staff was well trained and immediately served welcoming drinks as we registered. Desk staff made a wise decision to upgrade our room to an available sea view unit for which we are grateful. For that alone, I'd recommend this hotel. The restaurant and breakfast dining was very good. The chef designed menu was a bit dated but the quality and quantities of food were a good deal. We enjoyed this beach. Beautiful white sand. Over water units appeal to the Bora Bora mystique.

I had to call ahead but they arrange transportation back and forth to the airport. They set me up with an awesome snorkel experience and had other Adventures awaiting at the front desk. I like to have plenty of kayaks to use they had two nice restaurant one on the beach and one by the office with a nice bar for happy hour. I thought that by using hotels.com that I didn't get quite the room I paid for
