  • This property was newly renovated. The house sits on 15 acres of land. There is a small blueberry field outback that guest can pick fresh blueberries in during the season. Enjoy a night by the fire sitting under the apple tree in the back meadow.
    Located in a quiet neighborhood, just a short drive into Bar Harbor.

Relaxing getaway

Loved the daily Deer visits. The dragon flies did a great job taking care of the mosquitos. The house was cozy and comfortable. Host was quick with communication. Thank you, Jim, Robyn and Dixie

Bernard Maine Motel 6

All that follows is the truth with no exaggeration. Let's start with the exterior. The vinyl siding is missing from the front of the house, the storm door doesn't have a hydraulic closer and bangs in the wind if you don't latch it, the exterior facia boards and front door haven't been painted in decades, and much of the lawn was not cut short. Now let's go inside. The refrigerator was not clean at all. Some kitchen cabinets didn't have bottoms - the bottom was the floor. There was hair on the shower floor. The bathroom was not finished. There was a 10-inch open gap where you could see bare studs and look through to the stairway to the basement. The one heat thermostat in the hallway, which you would think would control the heat, was unresponsive. I discovered a second one in the first-floor bedroom that did work. When the boiler fired up, it sounds like a jet engine in the house. Our experience was SO BAD we moved out and didn't spend the second night there. My hope is one of two things: 1. The owner already is aware of these defects and make a conscious effort to make the property clean and respectable like SO MANY OTHER ones I've stayed in on MDI. 2. Vrbo PUBLISHES this HONEST review and other tourists avoid this property until such time as the owner significantly lowers the rental price or sees a drop in rentals and then repairs all the defects.
