Everything was great! The only issue we had was that the WIFI never worked. The log in information never worked. We were in touch, but since our stay was so short, it never got resolved.

Nice property.

The location of this cabin was lovely, we enjoyed the morning sunrises. The description boast the use of a row boat, kayaks, and canoe. There was only a single oar for the rowboat. I did report it, and a one paddle for the kayak magically appeared. My grandkids wanted to kayak together. The sink in the master bathroom was completely plugged up. My husband found a plunger, and drano, nothing worked. We reported this, and someone did come onsite and told us he would have to escalate to get this fixed after our stay. The screens on the porches need to be repaired. We do enjoy time on the porch looking out on the lake, we spent quality time with our grands before they head off to college in the fall. The cabin is old but charming in It's own way. Very peaceful.We probably won't stay here again it was fine for a long weekend

Door County Cabin on Kangaroo Lake

We rented the Door County cabin for a week. My wife, daughter/husband and their 3 kids looked forward to the week from our February booking. Some had never been to Door County before, but all looked forward to the week. However, there was a minor glitch with checkin, but was resolved in 10-15 minutes. Many of the screens throughout the house were in need of repair/replacement. The kitchen served its purpose, especially cooking lasagna in the oven. Meals were served at the table located on the porch overlooking the lake. Beds and linens were clean and comfortable. The master bedroom was very comfortable.Plumbing was troublesome. - 1st floor shower filled with ankle deep water- 1st floor vanity had no hot water and sink clogged- 1st floor toilet seat needed replacement a while ago- 2nd floor shower had low pressure None of these began with our stay. They were lingering problems that were old problems.As someone with a 115 year old house with 2 screened porches, I know dust and dirt can infiltrate the living areas. However, under the cushions of the chairs and sofas were crumbs, pop corn kernels, etc. Underneath the couches were months of cobwebs and filth, crumbs, etc. The kitchen counter housing the microwave had months of crumbs and mice droppings.Two uncovered Weber gas grills were rusted and never used.Pier and metal framing needs repair. Boats were great, but some of the oars need replacement.Deep cleaning and minor repair would do wonders for the cabin.

We enjoyed our stay at this location for the most part. It was a bit troubling that the doors to the master bedroom, kitchen and upstairs bedroom (through porch) did not have keys and were therefore unlocked and accessible through the screen porch doors at all times. This safety concern did lower our overall stay.In addition, one of the five chairs by the firepit was broken and our family of five was not able to all have a chair for sitting by the fire. We were expecting more chairs so this was frustrating.The check-in process was positive and smooth. The kitchen met our needs although a little small. We loved all the outdoor screened in spaces!

Was a fantastic week of relaxing on Kangaroo lake and Door County! Was great to have the lake and kayaks, a canoe and row boat at our back door. Management company was incredibly quick with responses to a couple questions we had. Would definitely stay again!

Great location, and while the property has a lot of potential, it's in need of many updates. All cooking utensils are very old and not very functional. There where no butter knifes and the microwave was at least 40 years old and barely worked. Some small investments in the kitchen would go a long way. All other amenities where fine and reasonably maintained, but very old so functionality or comfort was sacrificed. For the price, there should have been more investments in the property.

Late October Visit

Family stay at the log cabin

Great location and beautiful sunrises. Kids loved spending time on the lake with the provided kayaks and canoe. Pet friendly with a wonderful yard and a fire pit for S’mores and star gazing. Look forward to coming back someday!

Dirty and inhabitable

Leaking ceiling, mold, smelly, dirty, broken screens and locks - this place is awful. The host, the Simple Life, did not address any of our issues despite numerous attempts to contact them. The only positive about this property is the lake view. This place gives Door county a bad name.

Perfect Serene Log Cabin

We absolutely loved our stay on Kangaroo Lake! The property was exactly as pictured and very clean! The outdoor area was a perfect place for the kids to play. We had to work for part of our trip and spent that time working from the screened in patio - perfect place with a beautiful view! We found the location the perfect, centrally located home base to easily visit each little town (Egg Harbor and Sister Bay were our favorites). Thank you! We will definitely be back!

Family fun in a cabin on a lake! What more could you want?!!

The house is roomy and allows our family of six to spread out but also has several areas big enough for all to gather. Morning coffee chats in the screened in gazebo, Yahtzee at the kitchen table, and dinner at the screened porch table are some of my favorite times there. Since the master bedroom is on the first floor, the kids take over the second floor with a large room with 3 beds, a smaller bedroom and a sleeping porch with an inflatable mattress, The Andersens are responsive should something come up but rarely does. They provide a grill, row boat and kayaks for the lake and tons of recommendations for stores and restaurants. The backyard and pier give you access to the lake and a large open area to play games. (We bring bocce and kuub). We love the firepit too! It provides all you need for a fun time. Overall an ideal vacation home!

Quick Get Away

My family and I really enjoyed this quaint Log Cabin. We were celebrating a birthday and had a surprise waiting for us when we arrived. The property is very secluded and private and the lake is crystal clear! The kitchen was cozy, functional and actually a place we enjoyed even though most of our time was spent outdoors!

Rustic lakeside retreat

Perfect spot for gathering and enjoying all that Kangeroo Lake has to offer. Morning coffee on the patio and evening campfires we’re among the highlights, as well as the ease of sailing, rowing and kayaking every day.

Beautiful Location, Solid Cabin

The location of the Log Cabin is perfect for Door County. Kangaroo Lake is centrally located, which makes getting to places easy and efficient from this property. Host was very communicative and clear. The Cabin itself has lots of seating areas for guests, including many screened-in porches and patios. (That said, many screens are in major need of repair--this is one area, perhaps minor, that could be improved). The kitchen is tiny, but multiple dining areas, two grills, etc., are major bonuses. The property (land) and shoreline itself are ample and well-maintained. I would definitely recommend this property to other Door County vacationers.

Rustic comfort

We love the quiet and calm of being on the lake. The cabin was far enough from hussle and bustle to be relaxing, yet close enough to get to places you want to go in a short drive! Beds were comfy, LOVED the screened back portion of the house. It really let the outdoor living flow easily into the house, plenty of room. Some of the kitchenware might need to be switched out or sharped. But had no problem finded something that would work to do the job. It is not a new posh cabin so if you are wanting this is not your spot. We enjoyed the cabin and it's comfortable atmosphere. It was plenty of room even tho the kitchen being smaller, for 5 adults and 1 medium dog. The dog really enjoy the screen porches too, cool breezes without the bugs! We did not have time to enjoy the boats but did enjoying sitting on the waterfront while the dog took a swim. There is a nice firepit there. We will definitely look for available booking next time we come to the area we had a wonderful time, it was over too quickly!

Amazing property

My hubby and I, our son, daughter, her college roommate, and my neice all came up for Fall Festival, which is our annual family reunion. Our dogs also joined us for the weekend. We had a ton of space for everyone, and it was perfect for a weekend away. The weather was cold, but we still enjoyed the screened in porches on Friday night for game night. We would LOVE to rent this place out again in summer and take advantage of the pier and the lake. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Baileys Harbor Log Home

The Log House has beautiful outdoor spaces. The screened gazebo and 2nd story screened porch were favorite places to relax. The kayak, canoe and 2 row boats were in good condition and easy to access. There is a fire pit, corn hole set and plenty of inflatables provided. My son caught several nice fish ( small mouth bass) from the row boats. The cabin was comfortable. Kitchen was small but well stocked with the necessities for making meals. Minor complaint with the water pressure in the upstairs shower. Baileys Harbor is conveniently located in the center of the Door peninsula, making accessing our favorite shops and restaurants all within a 10-15 minute drive. We enjoyed our stay.
