the concierge were a gem! went above and beyond, from organizing a very last minute transfer to having delivered a left itemn at our next hotel. can only highly recommend as the place to stay in aswan. location is amazing too!

Très bel établissement pour profiter du Nil
L'hôtel est situé sur l'Ile Eléphantine, juste en face d'Assouan. C'est à la fois la force et la faiblesse de l'établissement : force, parce que c'est un plaisir de pouvoir profiter pleinement du Nil, splendide à toute heure de la journée ; faiblesse parce que même si une navette assure la liaison en permanence on est pas à Assouan même et on peut avoir le sentiment d'être isolé du reste de la ville. D'un point de vue confort, l'établissement est exceptionnel : les chambres sont grandes et propres; elles proposent un balcon avec vue sur le Nil, le wifi fonctionne bien. Petit bémol sur l'isolation : il nous est arrivé d'être dérangés en pleine nuit par une conversation dans le couloir. Le petit-déjeuner est vraiment excellent avec un très large choix de sucré et salé. La piscine est également bien agréable même si elle n'est pas chauffée. En synthèse, un très bel hôtel qui conviendra davantage à ceux qui veulent se reposer au bord du Nil qu'à ceux qui veulent multiplier les escapades autour d'Assouan.

Hôtel neuve sur une Île très beau site.
Rien as dire de négatif sur cette hôtel. Personne accueillant, service impeccable le tous nous avons eux un merveilleuse expérience et j'y retournerai demain et je la conseil au autres personne d'aller.

The best in town though not the best
Aswan lacks new hotels. The new Movenpick building is much better than the former. Spacious, with large social areas and a great pool. However, maintenance is already lacking. Though new, rooms are showing some decay. Many of the plants on balconies are dead giving a sad touch. AC struggles in the hot months. Room temperature was 28C with the full AC on. Bathrooms are ill conceived and water splashes from the shower. A lot of details that do disappoint. Breakfast is good and there's a lot of selections. Staff is great as most areas of Egypt. Shuttle service to Aswan Corniche is speedy and constant. Old building is under renovation. Gardens are pretty but do need people to clean up the mess of plastic locals and tourists dispose. Aswan a former beauty has already imitated Cairo in having a serious garbage problem.

Nice hotel but care with food
Good hotel, nice room, nice bathroom & bed. 9/10 clean (only some hair in bathroom) Staff excellent, maybe too much (many people came at my room to be sure I was fine..., too much) Bad point, food. I was sick after breakfast. Fruits were old et not fresh, same about bred & eggs.

Très bon séjour
Hôtel superbe situé sur l'île Éléphantine. L'accès à l'hôtel se fait par une navette fluviale gratuite (7/7 jours et 24h/24) en une dizaine de minutes. L'accueil a été très chaleureux,agréable et souriant. Le service a été au top. Le personnel, sympathique, s'est toujours montré attentionné. Le coin piscine est paradisiaque : grande, calme avec une magnifique vue sur le Nil. La chambre, spacieuse, jolie, offrait aussi une vue agréable. Le seul petit bémol concerne le restaurant situé en haut de la tour. En effet, le rapport qualité/prix n'est pas au rendez-vous. Toutefois, il est possible de juste y boire un verre. De la-haut, le restaurant offre une superbe vue sur le Nil et Assouan. Nous garderons un excellent souvenir de notre passage dans cet hôtel.

idéal pour séjour même prolongé en couple
hotel bien situé dans l'ile Elephantine avec un système de navette régulière qui facilite l'accès à Assouan et aux divers sites. Personnel très agréable et prêt à répondre aux questions diverses qui peuvent se poser à des vacanciers individuels. Le site est remarquable,sauf évidemment la tour qui dénature le paysage,mais permet des vues exceptionnelles sur le Nil,les felouques et l'environnement. Piscine agréable avec un snack permettant de passer de longues heures de repos entre des visites. Au total ensemble bien conçu et géré,permettant un très agréable séjour.

sur l'île Elephantine
L'hôtel sur trouve sur l'île Elephantine, une situation idéale! Il est malheureusement très moche, avec une salle panoramique en forme de tour de contrôle d'aéroport. Le seul moyen de ne pas être affligé de cette architecture de type soviétique, c'est... d'y séjourner, ainsi on ne s'en rend pas compte dans le paysage alentour. L'hôtel est impeccable, le personnel très serviable. Petit bémol : dommage que l'accès au petit village nubien au milieu de l'île soit fermé par des murs d'enceinte, un accès direct serait bien utile, car ce village est très typique.

Facility and breakfast is 5 out of 5. Dinner is not good, I went for half board. I struggled to find nice food to eat. Overall the score reflected heavily towards the dinner side. Staff ask if everything is ok, but don't really mind the answers you gave or take a plate full of food away (as the food was not nice and not touched). Somewhat disappointed, but there is McDonald near by if you want to stay with them. Facility is ace.

We stayed here for one night before starting our cruise. The room was clean, but the interior is dated. Looks like somethng straight out of 1985. It was quiet, and the wifi worked well which is a stuggle in Egypt. The breakfast was also outstanding.

It has an excellent location, but sadly, it is run down and in need of serious updating. The hotel has no limo service and is left to guests to arrange transport from the Aswan river bank dock.

Old hotel design and rooms
The hotel and the rooms are too old, in particular, the design style and the furnitures. We can see that the staff has been trying to maintain the best condition and keep the furniture clean but the furniture and decoration are really quite old. When the rooms are not cheap, I do not expect the rooms are that old. The hotel is located in the island which requires us to take the boat provided by the hotel from the city to the island. The boat operates 24 hours 7 days so it would not be any problem for this. Apart from that, our stay in Movenpick was still good and peaceful. The breakfast was normal; the room service is good; check-in and check-out are smooth; the transfer boat is good as well.
