'Prachtige locatie, mooi historisch pand met geweldige Engelse tuin en park. Met de bus op 7 min. van York, recht aan de bushalte. Al een tweede verblijf in dit hotel, en is allen maar verbeterd. Keuken ronduit fantastisch, prachtig dineren bij kaarslicht waar je volledig in de watten wordt gelegd. Wel iets van deftige kledij te voorzien. Gezellige bibliotheek voor een 'afternoon tea', voor je in de spa of de gym duikt. Massages ook goed in prijs/kwaliteit. De vriendelijkheid waarmee elke vraag...

'A truly wonderful stay over the festive period. The new spa is lovely and room 452 was SO quiet and spacious, highly recommended. The only downside which I pointed out two years ago is that the shower lets the room down as it’s not powerful enough and looks dated too. A short taxi ride or lovely walk into the centre with everything you could wish for. Please note valet parking is £39.50 and the Soa £45 per person in addition to the room. 'It was totally magical staying at the castle. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. It was marvelous exploring the castle and grounds. The road to get there is narrow and bumpy, but once you’re there it is worth it! We had a lovely breakfast in the little restaurant. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Wish we could have stayed longer. '
