Guest Access:
During your stay, you'll have exclusive access to all the amenities and spaces within the property.

The Neighborhood:
Lambton Quay is the backbone of Wellington’s Central Business District (CBD)—a place where the city moves at its fastest. For locals, it’s less of a neighborhood and more of a functional hub where work, shopping, and daily routines intersect.

What It’s Like to Live & Work Around Lambton Quay:

Business First, Lifestyle Second
Lambton Quay is primarily a business and retail district, home to corporate offices, law firms, government buildings, and financial institutions. Most locals who spend time here are either working in the area or passing through on their way elsewhere. It's where you grab a coffee before heading to work, meet colleagues for lunch, or pick up something from the shops before catching your bus home.

Fast-Paced Coffee Culture
Wellingtonians love their coffee, and Lambton Quay has no shortage of excellent cafes. Mornings see a steady stream of professionals queueing for their flat whites, with well-known spots like Mojo, Peoples Coffee, and The Hangar keeping the city fueled.

Shopping & Essentials
It’s also one of the best places for shopping in Wellington, with high-end department stores like David Jones alongside chain retailers, specialty shops, and fashion boutiques. Locals often pop by during lunch breaks or after work for quick errands rather than for leisurely browsing.

Commuter-Friendly & Walkable
Most Wellingtonians don’t drive through Lambton Quay—it’s built for pedestrians and public transport. With buses running frequently and the Wellington Cable Car just a short walk away, it’s one of the easiest places to navigate without a car.

Lively by Day, Quiet by Night
During the week, Lambton Quay is bustling, filled with professionals, shoppers, and tourists. By 6 or 7 PM, though, it starts to wind down quickly. Unlike Cuba Street or Courtenay Place, which stay lively into the night, Lambton Quay is not a nightlife destination—most of the bars and restaurants cater to the after-work crowd and close early.

Living Near Lambton Quay
There are a few apartment buildings around the CBD, but living here isn’t for everyone. Most residents are young professionals or city workers who value convenience over a neighborhood feel. While you’ll have everything at your doorstep, you won’t find the quiet residential charm of places like Thorndon, Te Aro, or Mount Victoria.

Lambton Quay is a place of movement, not community. It’s where Wellington works, shops, and commutes—an efficient, well-connected hub that keeps the city running. If you’re looking for energy and convenience, it’s unbeatable. If you’re after a neighborhood with character and a slower pace, you might find yourself heading elsewhere when the workday ends.
