'We liked the vibe of this hotel. Different than most USA hotels. The room was spacious and well equipped. Be aware that there is a construction site right next to the hotel, so it can be a little noisy at times. Breakfast is very basic and crowded at times. Staff is friendly!'

'We chose the Hampton Inn for its proximity to the waterfront where we planned to board a cruise ship. We arrived on an early flight but by noon they had our room ready. The room was comfortable, we didn't find a safe but had no problems. My one complaint was no cups in the bathroom which I only discovered after I finished brushing my teeth. 'I finally had a chance to stay here, after several missed opportunities. Conveniently located in the historical part of town, you might feel like you were in a time warp based on the neat old buildings and crooked walkways. Parking is not easy, but highly walkable and convenient to everything. Staff was great. Friendly and helpful as always. Rooms are clean, but not modern. Smaller and older but this just goes with the territory of an older building in Old Port. Overall, an enjoyable stay.'

'After having a terrible stay the last time I was in Portland at another hotel, I was very pleased with this stay. They used to have a restaurant a the Clarion but that is gone, so I had to drive someplace to get dinner. However, this is to much better than the last place I stayed that was new and highly rated but had bedbugs! Don't stay at the Casco Bay Inn, stay at the Clarion instead.'

'Just spent a week here for our first trip to Maine. The location was amazing as there were dozens of shops and restaurants just outside the front door and within a two to three block radius.
