What a pleasure it was staying here! When we travel, I tend to pack pretty much anything I think I might possibly need, especially when we stay in a remote area like Terra Alta, WV. Had I known how well-appointed this cabin was, I could have saved a ton of packing. The owners seem to have thought of everything you might need. Quality toiletries, including shampoo, conditioner, face wash. Laundry room had detergent and fabric softener sheets. Even the kitchen was well-appointed, right down to spices and coffee/filters. Comfy mattresses, quality bedding, nice blankets and fluffy (actual full size!) towels. Even our doggo felt welcome, with food and water bowls, a feeding mat and dog treats. It was as if the owners took every suggestion from anyone who ever stayed to ensure our stay was quite comfortable. The only "mention" I can make is that the driveway is quite steep - we had to put our truck in four-wheel drive to turn around. But that is of no surprise in that region. Elderly folks might want to bring along some good hiking boots, as I did struggle a bit to walk down the driveway to the trash bin or up to the fire pit. And of no great surprise, it's a 20 minute drive to pretty much any big store or pharmacy. Also, Alpine Lake's (on-site) restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so plan accordingly. This cabin is a treasure. My family lives nearby, so when we visit again, we will definitely stay here again. Next time, however, I won't have to pack nearly as much!
