Beautiful location right next to the water. The view was magical whether it was foggy, sunrise, high-tide, low-tide, or when the water was still as glass. So many birds to watch and stars to see late at night while sitting around the fire pit. We worked ourselves into the cold but invigorating water a few times and our dog loved swimming and hunting for chipmunks. The place is cute and clean. The location is ideal - short drive to a beautiful beach, quaint lighthouse, great local restaurants, and within a 30 minute drive of Camden and Rockport. The hosts are lovely people and very responsive.
We loved our stay at Cove Cottage! Vanessa was kind and communicative and made us feel very welcome. The cottage is comfortable and beautiful inside and out. It has everything you need and loads of natural light. The location â right on the water â is filled with wildlife and the rise and fall of the tides. Maine at its best! Close to Thomaston and Rockland and great restaurants within 5 minutes in St. George. Canât wait to return!
Excellent! Tranquil indeed. Spent my time watching Canadian geese with their young. Watched osprey dive for food. Plenty of activity. Cozy cottage many things thought out and provided. Host was very responsive.
Check in was super easy, property is well maintained, bright with lots of windows, great views, well stocked kitchen, good amenities. There is plenty to do in surrounding areas, the beach is 10 minutes down the road, but there is acess to the water on the property. The host is easy to communicate with and friendly. We had a great time
We had a wonderful time at Seavey Cove. The views are breathtaking, the cabin was perfectly clean and contained everything we needed. The hosts were helpful with restaurant recommendations and kindly offered more bed linens for my daughter who visited at the tail end of our stay.Would definitely book again!
What an amazing place tucked away in a tranquil location. We spent out days watching the birds and exploring the area. Cabin has everything you could want to feel at home and comfortable. We hated to leave and you will too. Thank you!
If you want to recharge in a peaceful and beautiful location, this is the place. The cottage is nestled in a private and quiet cove that provides amazing views of wildlife, trees, lobster boats and even Clark Island. My dog and I did our daily meditation on the rocks overlooking the cove every morning. The cottage itself is well equipped with everything you could need. Vanessa, the owner, was in contact on our first day to make sure that we were having a pleasant stay and answered any questions that I had. The cottage was decorated to reflect the true essence of Maine. The location is near numerous great restaurants, although we did cook a lobster dinner at the cottage one night since they have a very large lobster pot to use. Everything was perfect and we will definitely return
I canât say enough about this property. Location, location, locationâŠThe views were unbelievable and I would highly recommend this property to anybody. We will definitely be back.
This was our second stay at the cabin and it had everything we needed for the perfect vacation. Days spent in the idyllic, peaceful setting enjoying nature. Great food at Schoolhouse bakery and the Happy Clam right down the road. Short trip to Rockland. Even made it to the last Puffin Cruise of the season. Thank you so much for sharing this special place with us and we hope to stay again next year!
Wide angles lenses and photoshop work wonders. What looked to be rustic- chic on line turned out to be merely rustic in actuality. This is not a "cottage". The sign at the end of the driveway is more to the point. It says "the cabin". That's all it is. You'll bang your elbows on the window sill if you roll over in bed at night and also in the shower stall if you wash your hair. The bungee cord used to keep condiments from falling off the refrigerator door shelves (with mixed success) was an interesting touch. Kitchen and kitchenware are spartan if you plan on eating in much. The upstairs "bedroom" reminded me of
a YMCA camp I stayed in in the '60s.Whoever does the cleaning could have done a little more Swiffering under the furniture. If you're just looking for a place to stay for a long weekend this might be okay, but certainly not for the two weeks we had planned on. We left 5 days early. In our 40 years experience of vacationing in Maine this was the most over-priced place by far.
This was a lovely place to stay in Maine and we would most definitely return!
POSITIVES:
varying and generous water views; great birding to enjoy; both outside tables had umbrellas - a âmustâ when the sun is out; great coffee maker; lots of pillows in living room - helps when reading in bed; lovely flowers in flower boxes; lots of windows; easy to work combination door access; clean & pleasant bathroom; Hosts very responsive & timely in responding to questions.
NEGATIVES:
Sliding glass door needs a screen - it diminishes pleasure, comfort & air-flow in the Great Room without a sliding-screen door; TV directions: step by step directions should be provided- not all guests are tech savvy; exterior door handle is loose, wobbly & inner part of handle appears to be separating from outer part; both sides of bed need lighting for reading; recessed ceiling lights on one side in Great Room donât turn all the way off (on the âhammockâ side of room); kitchen needs: wax paper, foil, a garlic press, sharpened knives for cooking, more trays for âlap diningâ, real dishes VS plastic , although pretty, plastic is plastic.
THANK YOU!
Thank You for sharing your water-side cottage⊠it gives those of us who donât live there, opportunity to experience a bit of Maine! We enjoyed it immensely!
What a perfect cottage for getting away from our busy lives! Cove cottage was everything we hoped for--a simple yet beautiful cabin with everything we needed, gorgeous inside and out. It was exceptionally clean and well-stocked with kitchen, bathroom, and entertainment needs. The linens were so comfortable and the fans and a/c unit kept air moving through the cabin despite the heat of summer. The wide paneled wood walls and floors, natural light in every room, lovely loft design, two outdoor porches with dining tables, a comfortable hammock, all overlooking a serene cove--we found it to be even lovelier than the original description! We spent hours observing three bald eagles flying over the cove and perching a short distance from our porch. We visited area beaches (nestled in coves along midcoast Maine), hiked local trails with magnificent views, and explored bookstores and cafes in charming towns that are all only a short drive from this cottage. We ended most days with a fire pit, looking out on the cove. There is a sweet general store and a bakery nearby, and larger grocery stores in a neighboring town. Our family of four included two college aged sons who were grateful for this perfect week enjoying nature and unstructured time with each other. Many thanks to our hosts, who communicated clearly and always responded kindly and immediately to our questions. All in all we're grateful for the week we spent at this cottage, and we hope to return next year!
We loved how quiet and secluded the cabin was while still having easy access to explore all of the little towns nearby. It felt like we were on our own little peninsula. The views of the cove were beautiful. Marshall Point/Drift Inn Beach were close by. Vanessa and Paul made great recommendations, and our family of four was quite comfortable. Thank you, again, for a peaceful visit.
If you are looking for a quiet secluded spot surrounded by the beauty of Maine then this little cottage is perfect. There are many cute towns surrounding Tenant Harbor. The cabin was clean and cozy. We had a problem with the electrical system in the master bedroom (the breaker box just needed to be flipped) and the property owner was quick to help. Such a nice lady. My girlfriend and I didnât want to leave!
There isnât a negative about this property. The hospitality from the hosts, the location, and the location are all 5/5. Were Maine natives. If youre visiting the state or born and raised here this is plane to have the full experience. Thank you guys for everything and weâll be visiting again next year.
All the best,
Mike and Julia
Such a peaceful, beautiful place to relax and unwind. Lots of beautiful shore bids to watch. Vanessa was great with communication and very nice to rent from. Would love to return in the future.
A beautiful spot! It is on a tidal cove and watching the birds and animals are quite entertaining. From deer walking across the mud flats, ospreys, geese, and gulls to observing a duck's nest. The cottage has everything you need and the owners are very easy to communicate with. I will definitely be returning next year!
The house provide everything we needed. The location is off a quiet dirt road and neighboring house can barely be seen. Nice quiet piece of land next to the water.
We loved our stay at Cove Cottage. The location is ideal for a quiet, peaceful getaway - the property felt private and secluded with fantastic water views and nature all around - while also being a great launching pad to towns and activities in the surrounding area. The cottage itself was nice and clean with rustic charm. We had a great stay here!
