Pensions in Tahiti

'It is convenient to the airport, with a ride to and from the airport provided. The room was air conditioned, and a great traditional Tahitian continental breakfast for a small fee. If you need assistance with stairs, that could be challenging. We didn’t use it but we saw a jacuzzi and washer/dryer. Would stay here again. I believe the owner lives in one area and the rooms are on one side of the property.'

'We arrived early, but no manager or receptionist was present; just two staff members who handled food and cleaning. A small breakfast spread was offered with a sign: “We are pleased to offer you a balanced buffet,” but no fee was mentioned. Having traveled widely, we assumed it was complimentary. Later, a receptionist told us there was a $60 breakfast charge. We were shocked—no signage indicated a fee. After contacting the manager, she sent CCTV footage, falsely claiming we were informed. 'perfect for a stopover; nicely located near the citycentre, nice little swimmingpool, a fan and an airco that you can turn off, perfect and reliable airport service for clients. Good shower, watercooker, fridge. Good bed. Nice hosts, helpful. '

'Spacious 3 bedroom villa with great air conditioning in bedrooms, wonderful deck and plunge pool. Handy to have washing machine. Close to good restaurants. Welcome guide would be helpful or more communication with host / front desk re garbage etc. We had no mosquitoes and sat outside at dusk and in the evenings. Wonderful stay!'

'Overall, I thought it was nice and comfortable. Google maps originally took me to the wrong place, but we got it sorted out. They seem to have a fair number of animals - besides a couple of dogs and a cat, I definitely heard a rooster as well. So it could be a little disruptive overnight when you're trying to sleep if you're not used to that sort of thing.'

'This is a great property if you wish to explore the south side of the island, or if you have your own vehicle. Unfortunately it is NOT 2.5 miles from the airport or the cruise ship port. It is on the opposite side of the island, Depending on traffic, a 90 - 150 minute drive. $115 taxi drive. You can get a 3 day tourist bus pass for 1 franc (a bus ride is 4 francs) but the busses stop running at 4:00 local time. The closest grocery store (outstanding selection of fresh fruit & veggies, meats, and...

'We very much enjoyed our stay at Fare Arihau Vairoo. The room was lovely and comfortable. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming and took care of us as though we were family. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. All the food was prepared by our host from local ingredients mostly grown in their own garden. All the food was exceptional and the service, some from our hosts little girls, was delightful.'

'Owner was helpful and recommended places to eat or buy food and places to explore in the area'
