The best places are found on the side of the road. After attending my father's funeral I was on a road trip back home with my mom. We took our time traveling through Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. On the way there were several places we stopped to get a few shots of abandoned buildings. This looked like it had been an old church, but was gutted inside. There was a lot of stuff randomly on the walls, but after the last two weeks this was the only thing I wanted to see. #architecture

This was another photo from my trip back in July 2014. It was a house that was sitting alone on the side of the road. There was no front door so you could stand on the cement porch steps and see straight in. This was taken looking through the front door right to the back. It had obviously seen hard times with the warped floor and the torn water stained walls. There was still something quiet and peaceful about it though, as if the house accepted that it had been left behind. And as there was no sign of any person having been around for a long time, there were signs of wildlife. Birds, Lizards and the largest grasshoppers I had ever seen were just a few of the things scurrying around. I do not suggest waking into the building at all if you stop while passing by. The floor could be unsteady. #architecture #roadtrip
There were a few abandoned buildings on the outside of Sudan, Texas. If you are just driving through on the 84 you will see it on the side with the rail road tracks. The reflection off the windows was amazing. As always with abandoned buildings, wear boots and watch your step. #architecture

Overall, we were pleased with our stay. I just don’t like mold in the toilet or shower. I recommend making sure your bathroom is clean to your standards. WiFi is spotty and be temperamental when first trying to get it to work. Once it does, it’s fine! Will stay here agin if needed in the future!

So much is right here, from decor to food to personnel, so that it was hard to understand why such a hotel is stillstuck in the Holiday-Inn past with its ac system blasting cold air in noisily.
