Stroll 4 minutes to Gigglewaters — Safety Harbor's beloved restaurant and screening room — or 7 minutes to The Nona Slice House, an award-winning pizza destination that draws guests from across Tampa Bay. No car needed, no parking to worry about. A waterfront pier stretching over Tampa Bay is just steps further. Every third Friday the whole neighborhood comes alive with live music, street food, and art right outside your door. Safety Harbor is one of Tampa Bay's best-kept secrets, and you'll be at its center.

Casa del Tren's private, fully fenced courtyard is unlike anything else in the neighborhood. A sprawling brick paver patio, two red market umbrellas, party-ready string lights that glow at the touch of a button, a grill, and a corn hole set — this is your space to unwind, entertain, and watch the sun go down. The tall privacy fence and lush tropical landscaping make it feel genuinely secluded, even though downtown is just around the corner.

John and Ellen have been welcoming guests for over 11 years and know exactly what makes a stay feel truly special. Every room is professionally cleaned before your arrival. Our beds are fitted with memory foam mattresses, mattress toppers, and memory foam pillows — and guests say so in their reviews: more than a few have written that they slept better here than they do at home. A welcome snack basket awaits inside. WiFi that typically delivers around 550 Mbps — fast for video calls, streaming, and remote work — and a fully equipped kitchen with a dedicated coffee corner (Keurig machine and all the supplies) make it easy to work remotely if you need to, or completely unplug if you don't. And if you need anything at all, expect a response within minutes.


THE CASA DEL TREN STORY

Casa del Tren is Spanish for "Train House" — a name that tells you something about Safety Harbor's history as an old Florida railroad town. One quiet end of our yard borders the railway. A train does pass by occasionally — typically 6 to 8 cars, gone in under a minute. You might stay for days and never hear one. But if you're lucky enough to catch one, we'd love for you to jot it down in the guest book!


THE OWNER'S STORY

We're John and Ellen. Over 11 years of hosting, we've welcomed hundreds of guests across multiple properties in Safety Harbor and Nashville, earning Superhost status and thousands of five-star reviews along the way.

Our Nashville property, the Heidtke House, was featured on Sense of Place — an international travel series that celebrates authentic local experiences. If you're curious, it's easy to find online and gives you a real sense of the care and personality we bring to every home we host.

A FEW NOTES

Note 1 — Insurance Consideration: To protect your investment and ensure a worry-free travel experience, we strongly recommend all our guests consider purchasing Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) travel insurance. Our cancellation policy is firm. If you cancel outside the limits of our policy, you may not receive a full refund. We recommend travel insurance to protect your investment.

Note 2 — Refund Policy: When a booking is canceled 30 days or more before the arrival date, we're happy to issue a refund in accordance with our cancellation policy. However, please note that the 3% credit card processing fee is non-refundable, as the payment processor charges this fee and cannot reverse it.

Note 3 — Pets: We welcome well-behaved dogs under 25 lbs. A non-refundable $125 pet cleaning fee applies. Have a larger dog? Reach out before booking and we'll discuss on a case-by-case basis.

Note 4 — Self check-in: You'll arrive at your own pace using our lockbox — detailed instructions are sent before arrival.
