FISHIN' TRADITION features the following amenities: Waterfront, Canal Access, 2 Blocks to Beach, PRIVATE boat ramp, PRIVATE pool, Sleeps 12, 4 Decks, Private Dock, Pet Friendly. Your full kitchen in our open floor living space offers incredible views of the water and is great for entertaining. The top floor's open design is perfect for gathering and entertaining, and is often filled with laughter, food and fun! The natural lighting is inviting, especially if the dolphin and manatees are playing in the canal below. The wooden, custom built staircase connects the sleeping area on the first floor to the open air living room and kitchen on the top floor. The fully furnished bedrooms each open to their adjacent deck via sliding doors, with two overlooking the beautiful bay and canal and two enjoy views of the refreshing pool below. ADDITIONAL AMENITIES: Our dock spans the full length of the property, has an outdoor sink for fish cleaning, a private boat ramp and lots of room for grilling up the day's catch. We have also have a 6 burner gas grill and a charcoal grill for you to enjoy. If you have a considerable amount of frozen food products, we are happy to offer the use of our chest freezer, which is only a couple blocks away, accessible to you, 24/7. We also have an ice maker that never runs out of ice, so please let us know if you'd like to fill your coolers -- we have almost 1,000 lbs of ice available per day, so don't be shy. We treat our guests as we treat our friends -- so relax, you're on ISLAND TIME. This unique property overlooks a deep water canal on the West side of St. George Island. The home is located at 788 West Bayshore Drive. Just eight short blocks from the center of town, and two short blocks to the beach to the beach from this central location. You can still hear the waves crashing onto the beach from our location. Located only 8 blocks from the middle of town and two short blocks from the beach. FREE charter if you book by January 31st for Summer 2026!

“Private pool” was unusable as it was visibly unclean and unsanitary to swim in. Host promised on the first day cleaners were coming that day or the next, no one showed up for the entire week. We reached out to the host throughout the week about the pool and she never responded. Finally heard back from the host hours before we left. Pool was never cleaned or usable. Only reason we rented this house was for the pool for our children.Weren’t able to check in on time (5pm). Host let us know right before 5pm after we had a car full of groceries and young children. Weren’t able to check in until 7pm. Wouldn’t recommend this house, not worth the hassle.

Very nice home; beautifully and tastefully decorated! Nice comfy beds, refreshing swimming pool. Dock needs some repairs, but we had fun fishing off of it! Having 5 bathrooms was amazing! Wonderful family dinners and game times around the large dining table! Loved our vacation!

Chaotic arrival

We arrived after 5pm check in. Hosts were still there cleaning so the 8 of us unloaded and waited. Awkward. 3 large wet dogs bounded from the canal and Jumped all over us and onto the picnic tables that we ended up not using because of that. when we finally went inthe house dogswent in and one pooped on a rug in one of the bedrooms, and the other two wrestled on the king bed covers. The host stripped the bed and took the soiled rug and said she would return with clean linens and bedspread. It was after 9 o’clock before she came back. The house itself was fair. Rickety railings. There were no batteries in the front door lock so we couldn’t use that door. We had to get the code set for the other door after she came back with the linens. There were no kitchen towels or cloths or towels for the upstairs bathroom . But the four bedrooms with each having their own private bathroom is What sold us. The island is great and we had a blast. But I would never rent this house again. I hate giving bad reviews, but it is what it is. We haven’t been offered any discount for the fiasco.

Great house that has everything you need. If stairs are not your thing then be prepared for lots of them. We enjoyed getting our steps in everything though. Would recommend this house for a great vacation.

The place was ok. We had to refill the propane tank. Don't know what good a gas grill is without propane. And was shocked that a forced evacuation doesn't refund your money. I guess only the traveler has to keep their side of the bargain.

Family vacay

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very roomy with plenty of space to spread out. We especially enjoyed the 3 master bedrooms with a bathroom in each. Several of us spent time fishing off the dock. (and yes we caught several different kinds of fish) Since it was hot we made use of the pool every day. The beach was just down the street and in the other direction we could go to the bay. The neighborhood was great for walking. Our host was always available and responded to our texts. We even booked a boat trip with her and she came to pick us up. We love the vibe of the area and will be coming back. The only suggestions we have might be to have a couple of bikes for riding or even a couple of kayaks. Both items would be put to good use in this area.

Great Family Vacation Home

We had a great time at SGI. Krista was extremely helpful and easy to deal with. We enjoyed the home, pool dock and boat ramp. We caught nice trout straight from the dock as well trout and redfish in the canal and bay. The beautiful beach was an easy couple of blocks and was not crowded during our stay. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Warning for renters!

I have never left a bad review about anything but here we go. I’ve been staying on the island in rental properties annually for over 20 years and this, by far, was unsatisfactory. At a minimum, I expect a rental property to be safe and run efficiently, and for the amount you pay, it was not worth it and so disappointing. 1. Check in was late. They were unprepared for our arrival, waiting a hr for them to be done cleaning. 2. We slept/ate amongst ants, spiders, and roaches in the house. Finding numerous throughout the home including in the beds. 3. The dock and stairs were completely unsafe and hazardous. Railings were rotted/wobbly, boards were coming up and nails coming out. The upper deck was roped off because stairs had broken through. 4. There were holes in walls and things were found “fixed” in the house with duck tape. 5. On day 2 our AC went out and on day 3 the internet went out. 6. RED FLAG: their welcome sheet on day one advises to check doors often as they like to slide and stay ajar freezing the AC ( not what happened to us, it went out during the night due to the blower) and to limit flushing the toilet including toilet paper - clearly major things going on with the house that need to be addressed. Pros: it has a boat ramp and is in a decent location.

Beautiful place. But noticed the last day of stay that there was a huge water leak infront of the kitchen sink area. Water was just sitting there on the floor, could not dry it up -the water kept coming back. Our socks were soaked and had to resort to wearing shoes (which made the floor dirty). Management was not in a hurry to get it fixed or offer assistance for our last day there...we just put up with it. Also had to buy a few basic items like gargage bags and paper towels.

Great relaxing trip

Our family had a great time at this house! There was plenty of room for our family. We each had our own bathroom and sliding door directly to the balcony which was awesome. Also, we caught redfish, speckled trout, and white trout off the dock out back. On the evening of our last day, dolphins swam into the canal right up to the dock. Super cool! The owner is super nice and accommodating if you need anything what-so-ever. We will be staying here in the future! Thank you for such a memorable time!

Great location, private boat launch & dock, bring your water toys!!!

12 of us, family and friends, stayed comfortably at A Fishin Tradition for a wonderful week of fun in the sun! We brought 4 jet skis and a pontoon boat and were able to dock all of them right there in the canal in the backyard! There is plenty of seating for both eating and relaxing in the open kitchen/living room. The 3rd floor kitchen/living room offers great water views while cooking, eating or relaxing. The kitchen has a great selection of pots, pans, glasses, plates & utensils. The pool was a nice way to relax after a day of boating and jet skiing, the pool was clean and refreshing. No need to worry about parking as there is plenty of room for your vehicles and trailers. So, bring your boat & fishing gear and enjoy all that A Fishin Tradition has to offer!!!
