What's better than beachfront? Our place! We are directly across the street from the beach, so you get the convenience of beachfront without the beachfront prices. You are a shorter walk to the beach from our condo than you would be in the big resorts with 'beachfront' prices.

Come relax and feel the sand between your toes in beautiful South Padre Island. This is the perfect place to get away from it all. Even better, is our location. We are directly across the street from the beach, and there is a beach access just steps from the condo. It's like being beachfront without the prices! There are no hotels around us, so the beach is not as crowded and the neighborhood is quiet.

Stream your favorite apps, ZOOM, eLearn, etc. with high-speed WIFI internet. Our condos are pet friendly and kid friendly. They are also great for a romantic getaway. Are you setting up a girls' weekend or reunion? You can rent out an entire floor or the whole building and have a private vacation!

New upgrades: Keurig coffee maker, Berlin Gardens outdoor pool furniture, 6 beach chairs, 1 Tommy Bahama beach umbrella, 6 beach towels and a beach wagon. Custom outdoor pool table and outdoor TV in the pool area.

We are thrilled that you are looking at spending some time with us at Athena Ares Condominiums. Our beach home is a pet friendly, family vacation rental. We give 10% discount to Military, Police, and Firemen. The traveler securing the reservation must be 25 years of age or older. For Spring Break / Semana Santa all rental guests must comply with a families only restriction. If the dates that you are looking for are not available in this condo, we have 5 more fantastic condos in the same great complex that might work for your dates. We would appreciate the opportunity to accommodate your stay on the island.

Another wonderful trip to Athena Ares!

We visit SPI every year around Memorial Day and we always stay at Athena Ares. It’s been 10 years and we just wrapped up another fantastic visit. Beach access 17 (Starlight Circle) is steps away, right across Gulf Blvd, and it leads you to the best stretch of beach on South Padre. Location. Location. Location. You can walk to several restaurants and stores; everything you need is right there. There’s lots to do for kids of all ages! When we’ve enjoyed a long day at the beach, we head back to the condos to enjoy the pool, hot tub, outdoor kitchen, outdoor TV and pool table. It’s such a great property for families or a group of families. The immaculate units have tons of fresh towels and accessories and are well appointed for your stay. Beach chairs, a wagon, beach towels? Yes. Yes. Yes. Comfy beds throughout - even the sleeper sofa is comfortable! Yep, we love it here and look forward to booking again in 2026! :)

Good stay, worry free and clean

Overall, this is a great condo and stay. Everything was very clean. My family had multiple condos rented and it was a good time for everyone. Pet friendly was great help. I wish pets were allowed in the fenced pool area, but they aren't. My dog's don't like water but it would have been nice to have them off leash. There's a lot of paperwork with the rental agreement. There are a lot of extra fees that are not reflected in the nightly stay price in VRBO. This may be a VRBO transparency issue and not the owners fault. Not a fan of VRBO for this reason. If you need a place for a lot of people, pet friendly, lots of amenities, and on the beach, this is a great place!

Beautiful condo/Great location

This rental is exactly as described, but even more beautiful. They had everything we needed for our stay. We loved that they had a wagon and beach chairs to enjoy at the beach. After a day at the beach they had multiple places outside to rinse all the sand off. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub almost daily and usually had it to ourselves. We have stayed at many places on the island, but this is by far our favorite. We look forward to coming back.

Perfect rental

This rental had everything we needed for our 10 month baby and it was super close to the beach. Loved that the pool had such a big kiddie space. Renters were very kind and accommodating! We try to come to Padre annually so we will back!!

Athena Ares Never Disappoints!

We have been vacationing at this property for over a decade. We love the location, love the property and facilities, and recently had another wonderful stay 5/27/24 through 6/1/24. The unit is well-maintained and super clean. There are tons of fresh towels, pillows, and other linens, and we got a good night's sleep each night in the comfortable beds. You cannot beat the location, just across the street from Beach Access #17 (in my opinion the best stretch of beach on South Padre Island), and the pool, hot tub and outdoor facilities are perfect for when you'd like to skip the sand. It's an easy walk to several shops and restaurants. Most of all, we love that we can bring our Golden-doodle, Archie, along for all of the fun. See you next year!

Great location. We had the corner unit, 1st floor. The unit was clean, perfect size, just what we needed. The kitchen is a galley kitchen, but worked just fine. Nice large dining table. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful condo by the beach

This was our second stay at Athena Ares, and we likely will continue coming here for years to come. It’s rare to find a condo that allows big dogs, is clean, well appointed and maintained and close to the beach. We couldn’t ask for more! Management is friendly and very responsive.
