Introducing 'Current Situation' - a cozy cabin on the crystal clear Broad River just minutes from Lake Lure, Tryon International Equestrian Center, Chimney Rock, and more! This three bedroom + loft cabin features 3 queen beds, 2 twin beds, and three full bathrooms. Enjoy coffee on the balcony, family meals on the deck, or a relaxing read in the hammock. This cabin has it all including a fully stocked kitchen, a small propane grill with tools, coffee maker (filters provided), and toaster oven. We welcome children but please be aware that this cabin has stairs and is not 'child-proofed'. We allow a dog but please use the provided sheets if your dog wishes to be on the furniture. Please also crate your dog when you are away. The neighbors on each side of us have dogs and some are free-roaming but very friendly. High-speed internet is available and cellular service is generally good at the cabin. TVs have streaming capability, so log into your accounts but don't forget to log out when you leave.

The cabin's property has direct access to the Broad River. Please take care when getting in and out of the water, it can be slippery and unstable. There are deep sections and the currents can be strong. Do not leave children unattended. Accessing the river is at your own risk. There is a fire pit underneath the deck, on the side of the house, you are welcome to use but you must provide your own firewood. There are folding outdoor chairs stored in the basement (we keep them inside when not in use to keep them clean and critter-free).

Lake Lure is only 15 minutes away for all your recreation needs. Summer brings fishing, swimming, boating, and hiking. Local restaurants provide great food, allowing you to take a break from cooking and spend more time playing and relaxing. Or, visit the local Ingles grocery store and stock up to prepare your own meals. Take a stroll through Chimney Rock Village only 30 minutes away. The downtown section of Rutherfordton also offers great dining options.

There are many hiking options within a short drive. If you prefer a less intense visit with nature, check out the Purple Martin Greenway and Thermal Belt Rail Trail. Both have parking access and some sections even have access to restaurants, shopping, and restrooms. Outdoor enthusiasts will love exploring all that our cabin and its surrounding areas have to offer. If you're looking for a calm place to relax, Current Situation is your destination.
