Stressful Stay
The receptionist threatened us to leave our credit card with him as security. Then he forced us to clean the room before check out to avoid penalty. We were all anxious at bed time worrying about how much penalty we would have to pay. Holiday turned to nightmare.

I'm not sure if you know what is threatened and forced means, just for your reference you can call NZ police when somebody threatened at you or force you to do something that you don't want to do!!! if asking you for the CC details as threaten to you, I am so sorry I have threatened my guests everyday for the past few years and I will continuing to do that. I will be supper happy If I can force you to clean the unit before you departure, save a lot of job and labours. suggest you going out more often to explore NZ or the World!

Comfortable
Super spot especially if landing late at the airport due to weather! The check in was flawless and friendly. The room was comfortable. For those wanting to be close to the lake, it is perfect. A car is needed though.

Great quiet location, excellent playground for kids. Lovely and clean, and comfy beds. Terrible shower! VERY small, and non-removable shower head. Everything else was great though.

Cedarwood Lakeside is just that,lakeside. It is a few minutes drive from town and being at the end of the road is quiet and private.It has a lovely view of the lake and is on the foreshore. There is a nice pool and kayaks are available.The units are spotless and have everything you need. We have stayed in Rotorua many many times and this was our best experience by far.

We were delighted especially our kids they like the place wherein they could play and swim. The room were very cozy, we enjoyed our trip staying on your place. We will definitely come back soon. The owner was very nice and accomodating too.

Great location right on the lake. Owners could not be more pleasant or helpful. Rooms very quiet and clean with updated bathrooms. The pool, outside seating area is in great need of renovation. Pool needs to be resurfaced and fencing older. Pool water was sparkling and warm. I felt for the cost it was a great place to stay.

Had a lovely big room overlooking the lake. Very comfortable. Lady on reception presumably the owner was lovely. Very nice location and nice room.

best motel even in north island of nz
The best motel I ever stayed. Friendly and helpful owner, we used the public BBQ and was given utensils by owner for free. Local supermarket not far from motel you can get all kinds of meat and food from there. Rooms were very clean, you can even smell warm laundry scent once you stepped in the room. Everything were so clean, sufficient hot water supper. I would stay more days next time.

Absolutely stunning location. We had the cabin closest to the lake and it was beautiful. Cabins have well equipped kitchens and being out of town was very convenient for food prep. Kids enjoyed the heated spa.

Great location, pity about the pools
The perfect location if you like being by the lake and having a view of open space. We loved it, even with the rain and cold. Weather watching is always relaxing. The service was good, we got two rooms close together as requested for our group. The kitchens are rather tiny for the number of people in the room. Beds were okay but could've been more comfy. Bathroom was spacious but the shower needed to have more pressure. On the whole the place was sufficient for what we needed for one night. The whole place does need an upgrade. Main disappointment was the pools under repair - if this was stated before booking it would have been more honest than seeing it on arrival with a closed sign. Not good practice to not inform guests of this kind of thing.

Nice View
The view from the end room is beautiful across Lake Rotorua, and it was nice having two bedrooms. Wifi was good and the room heaters helped with the cold of winter. Last time we were here was 5 years ago and I think the place could use a few new items or update, but overall was very comfortable.

The rooms were clean and the view of the lake was absolutely stunning. We are definitely coming back.
