'Excellent location (shopping areas, public transport), friendly staff, great view from the room (33rd floor). Interior hotel and room design is getting a bit outdated and could use a refresh, including the bathroom. Would still recommend because of the positive items of this review.'

'Newer hotel, definitely not a 5 star hotel in room, service and breakfast quality. Bathroom smaller than one in Holiday Inn Express. Although rooms were paid in advance at arrival a relative high amount of bail was asked for and the small amount of tourist tax had to be paid directly and could not be put on the bill at check out. 'Beautifully presented hotel with one of the most comfortable rooms I've ever stayed in. All the staff are very friendly and there are lots of them so you're never left waiting or without someone to ask. The rooftop bar is a must visit and the experience with the blankets, heaters and hand warmer is memorable. About 30 mins walk from the main train station and we had our luggage transferred to our next location, no trouble. Would definitely return again if staying in Kyoto.'
