The apartment itself was great. It is well located and spacious, with comfortable beds and sofas for lounging. I would not consider this host to be welcoming. Unlike every other house or flat we have ever rented, either in Europe or the US, this one did not include any sort of information booklet. I had to ask - and then wait - for the wifi password and operating instructions for the dishwasher, oven, microwave or stovetop. Neither bathroom was equipped with shelves or other flat surfaces to store toiletries, nor, in the showers, was there anywhere but the wet, slippery floor to put soap or containers of shampoo, etc. There was an electrical failure on our first evening. This was not their fault, but what WAS their fault was the slow response to our queries about the nature of the problem and when it was likely to be fixed. Even a “we are working on it and will get back to you” took badgering on our part. Lastly, the fire extinguisher and fire blanket were placed in cabinets with no signage. It’s a great apartment in a wonderful city, but the host’s communication left a lot to be desired.
