Let me start by saying that this unit was beautiful and wonderful for our 2 families of 4. Spacious, clean, quiet (read further), beautiful deck, basically everything you see in the pictures.
However, the guest experience is perhaps not the best. The listing leads you to believe that being part of the âCalypso propertiesâ entails you to usage of the other buildings pools, etc. This is NOT true. We discovered this when there was âan accidentâ in the pool one afternoon and they shut the pool down for 24 hours. No signs were hung, no notices, you had to go to the office and ask why the pool was closed. There was no conditional agreement to use the other facilitiesâ pool until ours was âdisinfectedâ, it was just plain shut down. For 24 hours!!
Also, as another reviewer pointed out, the pool patrol was beyond strict. There are signs posted that basically say nothing (besides your body) is allowed in the pool. I was aware of this and knowing that I watched the guard one day. I literally watched him stalk a group of kids (that had no toys) for at least 30 minutes. He walked around the pool following them. Come on!! Honestly I think this is WAY overkill. At calypso III the pool is huge, there is no reason part(s) of it canât be reserved for kids w toys etc.
Also, what doesnât get mentioned are the beach restrictions. There are at least 4 rows of beach lounge chairs laid out, literally from property edge to property edge. While this may be great if you want to rent them (yes, keep handing over $$), they wonât allow you to set up any portable tent or canopy/sail in front of the chairs. This effectively closes down your own property front for use if you are using a shade sail/canopy. Umbrellas, however, are allowed even though they are functionally similar. This was new news to us upon arriving at the beach and source of frustration.
Lastly, as for the unit being quiet, it was, on a unit to unit basis. However, there is major construction going on in the immediate area and it starts at 6:00 AM. Wonderful for a relaxing vacation. I know this is not the owners fault, but as a point of information, beware you will be awoken early every day of your stay.
Condo was beautiful and in a great location! The coffee shop staff was amazing! The pool was beautiful! The only negative thing I can say about the property is that they were a little tight policing the pool! The kids were not allowed even a tiny water ball and the pool was not crowded due to the property not being full because it was brand new! Also, the guests coming up from the beach were asked immediately to remove wagons, chairs, and boogie boards that were not in anyoneâs way! Let me be clear⊠the security was not rude in any manner, just enforcing the rules that the property had! The staff in all aspects were wonderful to deal with! Just feel they need to relax a little with the pool ârulesâ. Also no place to rinse beach stuff off! Therefore not tracking sand was impossible! I would def stay at this property again!
We didnât get to stay at where we booked because of a leak. They moved us to Calypso, which we hated. The place was okay, but the people policing the pool were extremely rude, especially Clara. We donât bother anyone and obey all rules, but they jumped on us for having a cart parked at the pool. It carried our stuff from the beach, and we only wanted to spend 30 minutes at the pool before calling it a day. We had the cart there all week, but then got told in a very rude manner that carts werenât allowed and to get it out of there NOW. Nowhere on the rules did it say no carts allowed. It said no pool toys. Clara said a cart was considered a pool toy. Go figure! Needless to say, it ruined our last day there.
