Herenhuizen in Ortygia

'Elsa d’Ortigia is a superb place to stay, full of character, and in the centre of historic Ortigia island. Above all the owners and staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfast is served in a communal dining area so there’s an opportunity to chat to the other guests. There’s also a charming outside seating area. I’m pretty sure we’ll be back!'

'Reception was nice, it seemed we were the only guists and quickly she changed our room from the third floor to the first. There was no elevator and we had heavy luggage. No help. The bathroom was very dirty and outdated, brown tiles, the water at sink didnt run. The toilet holder was loose. Breakfast was a few minutes away but nobody spoke English. Overal it was ok but not worth this money. We stay in much better hotels for less.'

'The hosts were excellent. Very nice room with patio. Italian style breakfast on the roofterrace overlooking the bay. 15min walk to the old city center but there were plenty of restaurants nearby.'

'The property is very clean and well maintained'
