'The carpet in the room was torn and old. The front desk person was friendly, but the cleaning ladies seemed unhappy. However, there was an envelope asking for a tip inside the room, which we felt was unnecessary. We usually leave tips inside the room, but we did so this time. Nevertheless, we felt that the hotel should stop placing envelopes for tips. They offered Starbucks coffee in the room, which was a nice touch! 'We have nothing but good things to say about our stay at this hotel (our first). Parking was a little clunky but the hotel is super clean, our room comfortable and quiet, and we couldn't beat the peaceful surroundings. While we prefer to stay at hotels that offer a hot breakfast we would not hesitate to stay at this hotel our next time in Newport.'
