'We enjoyed our stay at Gasthof Ami very much. The local scenery is spectacular and the location of Gasthof Ami is excellent for enjoying the surrounding area. We only used public transit or walking while visiting the area and that worked great. Downtown Nikko is a pleasant 1 hour walk. Or if you want the bus, the stop is a 5 or 10 minute walk from the hotel. Places such as Kegan Falls, Lake Chuzenji, Yudaki and Yumoto are all easy to get to on the bus. The room was very spacious and clean....

'De ontvangst was heel hartelijk. Ik had de eerste nacht de hele kamer 8 bedden voor mij alleen dus ook het salon en de badkamer . Zelfs een diep zitbad. Eerst kwam daar alleen koud water uit de termostaat was stuk ...ging dan s’anderendaags gemaakt worden maar na een half uur was de mevr er met een technieker en t werd gemaakt ..Bijgevolg dat ik een heet bad kon nemen.. dat is pas service !!!!!!! 'The hotel is old, it gives the feeling you've travelled back in time. We booked the hotel to experience classic room with futon beds. The view from the room was very nice. Breakfast / dinner buffet was fine. The room came with kimono / yukata and quite a lot of people were wearing them in the restaurant too. We had a non-smoking room. The room smelled a bit, but this is just from wooden materials in the room in combination with the hot weather. It certainly did not smell like someone had...
