At check-in, I paid with my debit (which was declined as I pressed "debit" when the machine prompted me to answer); this is relevant to my check-out. I was instructed to press "credit," and the charge went through (on my end, the payment shows on my bank statement).
We walk into the room, and the first thing we experience is our next-door neighbor trying to open the connecting door. Which was unsettling as I was traveling with my sister. (as two young women, we were immediately startled). I called the front desk and the matter was dealt with promptly, and we moved on since we were on a time difference and exhausted.
For the first couple of days, all was well. Except for our neighbors playing music all evening, which was very uncomfortable as we wanted to get away for a quiet, relaxing time. One of the things I look for in every hotel is soundproof rooms, which the Pierside advertised.
Housekeeping was standard. I returned to fresh towels and made-up beds. However, they do not remove trash, even if you leave it beside the trashcan.
Our check-out was also such a hassle. They wanted me to pay AGAIN because the first time was just a hold. Since I had already called an Uber, expecting a quick C/O, I just gave them my cards and left to catch my flight. I noticed two discrepancies at first glance at my invoice, but I just wanted to get out and settle with my bank later.
