The staff were super friendly and the breakfast was really good. Get the breakfast, that will be your meal for the day! It was a 25min walk to town which worked well for me, got a walk in everyday.

Very little which wasn't excellent
Everything I needed. I had a comfortable night's sleep and the room was a nice temperature. Perhaps the only missing thing which would have been nice was shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. It was all provided in one dispenser.

Lovely country pub, nice clean comfortable accommodation in adjoining building. Only negative was the brightness of emergency exit light in the room. Really nice friendly people. Lively warm and powerful shower.

Great location, comfortable, brilliant staff
A fantastic overnight stay as part of a bikepacking trip. Excellent location along the King Alfred Way trail. Super friendly and efficient staff. Tasty food with a good selection of evening meals and puddings. The room was spacious and comfortable with a good double bed. The bathroom was also good with a large walk in shower cubicle. There was not enough bike storage so needed to keep bike in room, which was fine as the room was large. I'd highly recommend the Jolly Drover to anyone visiting the area. Thank you for looking after us.

Really nice b&b at the back of a lovely country pub. Nice-size room, well-equipped, comfy bed, new shower. Plenty of parking; wheelchair-accessible. Freshly cooked breakfast to order, very good quality food, friendly staff. Really nice experience, would definitely recommend.

A group of 5 stayed here on our 5th night of the king Alfred's way. Great place to stay, the staff food and rooms were all excellent comfy bed and a hot shower. What more do you need. The hotel has secure storage for bikes.

Great place to stay in Liss. The most outstanding aspect is the friendliness of the staff. Nice room and great breakfast too. Didn't manage to have dinner, but it's obviously popular with the locals.

Friendly service and Covid19 safe stay
The owners have done a great job with ensuring that the Covid19 precautions are all in place and the rooms are cleaned every day. Good hearty breakfast and you can get an evening meal from a wide choice on the menu. Would recommend both for business and pleasure travel.

Excellent stay. The room is clean, comfortable and well equipped. Good bathroom with excellent shower. I didn't have an evening meal but I'm sure it would be excellent to eat there. The breakfast was very good.

Lovely pub with great rooms. The bedrooms are housed in a separate building from the pub itself and look to have recently been refurbished. The shower was great, a huge rainfall type shower head, decent pressure and temperature plus a towel heater, which is always nice. A comfortable bed in a reasonably spacious room and all the facilities that you could need; tv, great coffee and tea making facility, iron and ironing board and hairdryer. The room was very quiet and had good temperature control. Breakfast was plentiful and well cooked. At this price you really can't go wrong at the Jolly Drover.

I stayed in room 2 which was one of the first as you go across to the rooms, which are in a separate building to the pub. It was enormous and very comfortable. The bathroom was sizeable too, with a large walk in shower. The bed was very comfortable and everything you could need was there (tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, fan, tv, etc. The staff were really friendly as were most of their customers, which was nice. I had the Hake in tempura batter with chips and peas and was a bit disappointed. I was expecting a light crispy batter and got a soggy thick blanket of batter that was pretty inedible. The chips were very dry, not overcooked - perhaps the oil was a little too cold for frying. As I was tired and British (a bad combination) of course I didn't say anything, to my shame. I wish that I had gone for the pie as someone had that on another table and it looked delicious and all the reviews rate the food very highly. I certainly wouldn't let that put me off from staying here again and eating here again (definitely give the pie a go). Breakfast was cooked to order, hot, tasty and plentiful and served by the same lady who was behind the bar the night before! I hope she get some time off during the day! A lovely pub, full of character, in a lovely location, very comfortable rooms and plenty of parking.

When I arrived, the check-in was easy by friendly staff. I was shown to my room and told that the key could be used for my room as well as the main door. Very convenient I was going out that evening and was back late.

The wifi doesn't work despite having to go through a long winded login process that asks for all of your personal information. Would not be such an issue except for the fact that it is a 4G dead-zone. No air conditioning and it is close to a main road so noisy when the window is open. Bathroom needs updating as it has dual taps for hot and cold which is terrible for shaving, no power point for a hair dryer and the shower head wasnt working properly.

A lovely place to stay
unfortunately the Wi-Fi connection was a tad pants on this occasion. I have stayed here many times and this was a first time it wasn't so good.never the less the area is lovely and so is the place. this is highly recommended.
