'Very nice and cosy hotel. The rooms are pretty small but nice. The bathroom is tiny but functional. The staff is really helpful and kind. Breakfast has great healthy and sweet options and is served with a smile. WiFi is great. Location is very good, close to restaurants and Harpa. You can park for free a few streets from the hotel, make sure to download the Parka app (it shows you which sites are pay zones). Suggestions for the hotel; a wiper in the bathroom and a towel rack.'
'After parking in the Kolaport bílahús it was a short 5 minute walk to the hotel while looking at the boats in the harbour. The hotel has a bakery right at the entrance so we had to wait for people to move aside in the queue to walk past and get to the reception. Honestly this is the only remotely negative thing there is to say.
The reception is very friendly, the interior is wonderful and it feels very safe as you need to use your keycard to access the floor.

'I definitely recommend Black Pearl if you are staying at downtown Reykjavik. It's walkable to food, shopping and Bus Stop #4 for tour pickups. The rooms are clean, the beds are very comfortable1 All the staff people are awesome! It will be my place to stay whenever I come back to Iceland in the future !!'

'Hotel just in center of Reykjavik, comfortable proper rooms. Luxury bathroom. Lots of restaurants on walking distance (5-15 min). Good breakfast.
One disadvantage: there is no parking facility. We paid €80 each night in the nearby parking garage (advised / proposed by the hotel reception desk), that's an expensive parking.'

The room was spaceous, the beds are comfortable, the shower is everything you need after a long day of exploring Reykjavik and even the shampoo/showergel is provided. Checking in and out was very easy and fast and the location is perfect for being just a walking distance away from the busier centre.
We have enjoyed our two days in Reykjavik and our stay at the Exeter hotel was a big part of it."
"We stayed one night in a double room without a private bathroom. The location is perfect – just a short walk from the heart of downtown Reykjavik. The room itself was spacious and met our basic needs, except for one major issue: there were someone else’s hairs on the bed, which was quite off-putting.
However, the shared bathrooms and toilets were truly awful. We didn’t expect a luxury place, but we did expect a reasonable level of cleanliness and maintenance. One of the bathroom doors couldn’t even close properly due to a warped frame. One toilet was broken, another was clogged, and the hairdryer and kettle were both out of order.
In short: while the room was acceptable, the shared bathroom facilities were a nightmare and seriously affected our overall experience."
