'We really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Oak. The room was basic, but clean and adequate. The bed was comfortable. We ate dinner there as well and it was delicious. The breakfast was good. My husband got the full English and I got scrambled eggs and bacon. The scrambled eggs seemed to be the rehydrated kind, but otherwise the meal was good. We would stay here again. '

The pub itself is gorgeous, decorated beautifully, it is cosy and inviting and located in a lovely spot by the stream.Although the actual car park itself was small this was no problem as we parked literally a couple of minutes away on the lane, perfect as it allowed the opportunity to see a tiny red squirrel busy in a nearby tree. 'The cottage was pristine, we felt like we were the first guests. It is a spacious, comfortable and stylish property and the owner’s attention to detail is second to none. Large beds and great showers. Very quiet at night so we slept well. Large private garden. Warcop is a lovely village with good walks along the river & streams. 'We travel to appleby castle as often as possibly we luv the company of sally and her staff. It will be a shame for the castle to be sold its so relaxing and the staff are down to earth which is what we like as a group. '

'A very warm welcome on arrival it had a friendly feel about it. Our room was spotless with mixture of modern and old, plenty of refreshment choices also fabulous shower gel and shampoo provided. Breakfast was included and didn’t disappoint well worth adding when booking. Great location for the nature of our visit and as it is pet friendly we will be bringing our dog next time '

'Hotel is prima om op doorreis te gaan. 20 minuten rijden naar Kendal. Bij hotel alleen mc Donalds in de avond. Wegwerkzaamheden waardoor we om 22.00 al terug in hotel moesten zijn. 1 bed niet opgemaakt bij aankomst. Om langer. Dan 1 nacht te verblijven raden wij niet aan. Hotel heeft uitzicht op meer, maar aan de andere kant ligt deze aan parkeerterrein snelweg'

'Cosy feeling pub. Fantastic food. Nicely furnished cosy rooms but limited plugs for phone charging etc. We were in the room at the front above the pub, quite noisy from the pub below at night could make it difficult for some to sleep. Staff were welcoming and helpful.'

'Comfortable, well equipped 2 bedroom lodge with the living room, kitchen, bathroom, garden, parking space. Very kind owners always ready to talk. Property surrounded by a beautiful nature - green hills, farm animals. Not far are nice trails for hiking. Kendal is only 6 miles away. I recommend this place and I want to come back in the future.'
