Hôtel près de Mausolée de l'Empereur Koken (Nara)

« Really nice hotel. Free shuttle to go to Nara downtown. Good quality and quantity for the breakfast. Rooms are quite new and mattress comfortable. »

« Great value for money. 3 rooms on 2nd floor and 1st floor is common area with toliet, shower, kitchen, refrigerator. Traditional Japanese style room. Room is simple with matress, small ground table, A/C. Not much soundproof. No elevator & need to use stiff stairs. Host seems living in 1st floor. Use key to open/close room. Place is located on the side of small car road, not inside. Search '清舎' on google map. »

« 1st, this is an old and poorly maintained house without the old house charm. 2nd, please add a "Can Not accept any guest older than 55 years old. We were almost denied at check-in due to our age. 3rd, Expedia should not outsource the reservation through another 3rd party platform (Ctrip.com). 4th, English communication is challenged. 5th, it is not price competitive. Another hostel a few house down was only US$26 instead of $52. 6th, the hostel does not allow any cancellation. 7th, the...

« This was absolutely one of the best stays I’ve ever had in Japan or any place else! The mom and daughter duo who run it are so sweet, helpful and genuine, the room was terrific, and breakfast delicious. The location is right where you want to be, within walking distance of lots of Nara sights and great food. I STRONGLY recommend staying at Matsumae Ryokan if at all possible. »

« I am enjoying traditional accommodations in Japan for almost 20 years. This hotel is providing a truly premium service. One of the best experience I had. »

« Just incredible! We stayed for two nights and I wish we could have stayed longer. The view was stunning, the traditional breakfast was a delight for both the eyes and the stomach, and the two ladies who run the ryokan were absolutely adorable. I loved every moment of our stay and I would love to come back! »
