The Compass Rose Inn is one of the most charming properties we’ve enjoyed. The staff, decor, and layout make you feel like you’re right at home. We stayed at the Inn to be closer to a graduation party, and we’ve decided it’s our new staycation location. I even invited other people to come to the Inn to see and feel its warmth. They are planning on spending time there on their next visit to Utah. This Inn is a must! When you're there, be sure to stop by the cafe to meet Erika and Gabe. They are so lovely and make wonderful drinks.

If is a very nice property very unique and convenient to the ski hill. Not many choices for dinner nearby and they close by 8 pm. I think they should ask if you want meat before assuming everyone wants sausage but otherwise very nice stay.

Not restful
The property is well maintained and the staff was very nice. The room had fair amount of dust, but was overall nice. The biggest issue was the noise. You could hear the people in the room talking loudly next door. After 10 pm there was a ton of noise and slamming doors. Due to the noise I had restless sleep and was awoken at 2 am with someone yelling in the hallway and pounding on the door of a nearby room yelling…let me in.

Great place near Snowbasin
This is a great hotel for a ski trip to Snowbasin. Very cool design and great amenities. Recommend an observatory tour and the food in the cafe. Great all around.

The Compass Rose has been one of my favorite stays ever, and I travel a lot. The beds were so comfortable and their bunk room was such an extraordinary offering for my family. The decor was beautiful and the staff was incredible. We were so touched by all the attention to details regarding the hotel itself and our stay.

This property is charming and unique. The live music, with food trucks and an outdoor fire on Sat night was great. Small complaints are the broken elevator and broken decaf coffee bean grinder in the coffee shop. Potential guests may want to know the rooms are small with little storage and there is no in-room coffee. There is a refrigerator. There are a couple restaurants within walking distance.

A wonderful stay at Compass Rose Lodge. Perfectly situated between Powder Mountain and Snow Basin for a ski trip. We also enjoyed the Aprés Ski at the Lodge on Saturday with live music and food trucks. What a great surprise!

The property was pleasant and quiet. The “breakfast” was junk food in a brown paper bag. The coffee shop has nothing that is not junk food. That was disappointing since nothing else was available on site or nearby for breakfast, not even an apple or an orange. The scent of Febreze filled the reception area, which doesn’t seem to fit with an eco conscious property.

Thank you for feedback. Our complimentary breakfast is a quick breakfast to help guests get on their feet. We're sorry to hear you feel the breakfast items in the coffee shop such as the made-from-scratch sandwiches and soups are junk food. We are working to add additional options like fruit. We are also working to reopen a restaurant across the street this month which will serve breakfast. Our former restaurant was an unfortunate fatality of the COVID-19 shutdowns and we've suffered delays from our County Health Department in reopening. We're scheduled to reopen this month. We're not sure where you experienced a "Febreze filled reception area." The scented item in our lobby is a Rosy Rings Honey Tobacco Botanical Diffuser. We value your feedback and strive to continue to improve. We hope to earn your business again in the future. Thank you.

Very cool place to stay
The Compass Rose Lodge is a fun getaway in gorgeous Huntsville. The place was decorated beautifully - we loved the industrial barn style so much. Bed was comfy and we didn't wake each other tossing and turning like usual. Our only complaint was that we were looking forward to the nice continental breakfast we expected at this chic place, but instead were informed at check-in that there would be a paper sack containing breakfast placed outside our room in the morning, "due to covid". It is the end of June, 2021. The restaurant inside the Lodge itself is open. I realize that serving up a sack lunch is a MUCH cheaper option, but it was very disappointing and felt like a bit of a cop-out when covid is really not an issue in this area anymore. Very disappointing to splurge on a hotel stay and not get a key part of it. Other than that, we really liked the Compass Rose Lodge and would definitely visit again.

We appreciate your patience as we strive to improve our offerings. We are reopening a restaurant across the street this month which will offer breakfasts as well. This hotel is everything you could want for a weekend away. Kind owners who put care into every decoration, appliance, and design element, who are happy to tell you the history of this charming spot or just let you relax. Gorgeous lobby, great coffee shop, clean well-appointed rooms with top of the line toiletries....and nestled in a gorgeous valley with the best mountain access. Can't wait to return when the observatory is open again.

Great location and rooms with a view. Very clean and up to date rooms. Coffee shop on site and breakfast were great. Room was fairly small and no real amenities other than the coffee shop, but I really liked it and would stay again.

a lovely place
We stayed at the Compass Rose for our anniversary. The lodge is beautiful and we enjoyed our stay. Our room looked out to the park and square at the middle of the town. The staff told us that they have filmed 2 Hallmark Christmas movies here too.

Reminiscent of the Sundance catalog!
We were more than pleasantly surprised at the style and comfort of the lodge - almost as if it were a set for a Sundance catalog photo shoot! As we were there on the off-season, we had the whole place to ourselves, literally, so hung out in the comfortable lobby in the evening in front of the lovely gas fireplace.

Overall good BUT thin walls that could use sound proofing....was woken up at 5:30 am by person in next room just talking on his phone for 30 minutes. If you like hearing what your neighbor is up to stay here😜

The staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome. The fire pit outside in the evening was a nice touch. Beds were super comfortable.

Could use some attention
The room was decorated very nice and the staff extremely helpful. However there are a few things that could use some attention. (1) the shower floor is extremely slippery. I almost lost it and hit the glass door. (2) the pillows were smelly and must have plastic that make you sweat. (3) The walls must not be insulated because I could here conversations in the next room very clearly.
