Catacombes de Kom es-Shoqafa

séjour sympa. Petit déjeuner et déjeuner correct et bon. repas (plusieurs choix : sandwichs, pâtes, pizza, salades...) piscine et jacuzzi sympa. chambre énorme avec salon. jolie vue de la plage (pas loin 500 mètres). mais difficile de trouver car c'est en plein désert (sans magasins, etc...) c'est vide, c'est très calme, environ à 15 km de l'aéroport de Borg Al Arab.... (50 km d'Alexandrie) faut payer entre 60 à 100 Livres egyptiennes (il faut utiliser Uber pour payer moins cher)... Wifi un peu faible et pénible. Mais c'est idéal pour reposer, baigner...

The hotel is quite new (2-year old I guess). Rooms are clean overall (would rate cleanliness 9/10) with a modern style and nice artwork. The outside is amazing and the pool is big and "reflective" giving a very comfortable view. There's a convenient café close to the hotel entrance. It has a nice seating, but—like many hotels in Egypt: no clear policy on smoking! Thus, there is no pressure on smokers, even indoors. Many guests were smoking in the balconies too. The staff looks nice. They smile at you & are verbally sweet, but when it comes to action, you don't get what you requested. For a seasoned traveler like me (>6-7 hotels stay per year since 2001), it's very hard to convince me that the hotel (in October—not a busy time for Alexandria—has no "King Rooms," as requested. Yes, they were right: I requested a king room, and was told (on the site) that it is subject of availability. But to convince me that there is not a single available king room at 4 PM (not a late check in) is like to tell me: you're a newbie traveler who knows nothing about customer service. Of course they had king rooms that they perhaps kept for "more important guests" (or those who came through a higher priority website than Expedia). Most likely they needed a bit of time to prepare the king room, and they wanted to sell the available vs. the requested for me. Either way, the message is clear to me: I'm not an important guest there! Nice place, guys but I'm not booking it anymore.
