Hôtel près de Source d'eau chaude Fukuji Onsen (Takayama)

« Nice ryokan but needs serious renovation. Rooms are too dark but quite big. No bathroom in the rooms but nice private baths are available. Onsen amazing. »

« Worst hotel night ever. The only reason why people should book this hotel is because they have one of the most beautiful onsen in Japan, just on the side of the river. That night, the Typhoon Jebi had just passed over the hotel and when we arrived, there was not power or water anymore.

« If you want a traditional Japanese experience and get away from the main towns, then this hotel is for you. Yes, you can take the Western rooms, but the Japanese rooms will give you a better local vibe. If you take the breakfast and dinner option, then be prepared not to eat anything else. They supply yukata's and belts and you'll feel more comfortable being in traditional garb. It's a slog out and back to Matsumoto, so just make that a one-off day trip. Hirayu is much closer (15-mins) now the...

« all outdoor onsen not hot enough, we need to take shower inside the building and walk about 1-min to outside onsen. overall very old and need renovation. »
