'disgusting. we got into our room with hairs on the sheets and dirty. We switched rooms and more hairs on the bed. when calling the desk they had housekeeping come and they were yelling at each other and threw the sheets on the floor- left and didn’t say anything then showed up later. The front desk said she was the manager then the real manager suddenly appeared 5 minutes later to apologize. The only thing we received were 2 drink cards '

'I booked this hotel as a family of 4 because of the indoor pool. When I checked in, I was not informed of the pool being out of order. If I were told that, I would have made other plans right then and there. My daughter got dressed and ready for the pool only to find a sign on the pool door. Out of order. 'Property is in an excellent location with so much to see and do (and eat) in walking distance. My room was clean, quiet, and well maintained. Staff interaction was minimal (by design) but the few times I spoke with the concierge on site she was pleasant and accommodating. My only negative comment is regarding the toiletry products. I’m a toilet paper snob and that angel soft just doesn’t cut it. Overall I am beyond satisfied with my stay and would absolutely stay here again. '

The bad: 1 elevator broken and the other seemed on its last leg. Stairway was confusing to find as I really didn’t want to be stuck in the elevator. 'The Portland Press Hotel is a beautiful property. Everything is well maintained and clean. I was most impressed with the welcoming staff and easy valet parking. I do wish there was better signage for the elevators needing a room key, but that was a minor inconvenience. The simplicity of the rooms with just enough accommodations was perfect. I can't wait to go back!'
