'Thanks for hosting us at The Lilacs cabin on Mt Palomar. We truly relaxed while staying -- the setting is so peaceful, surrounded and shaded by huge cedars and oaks, and visited closely throughout the day by woodpeckers, jays, pigeons, quail, and other birds. This century old cabin glows with character, from its patchwork quilt-like additions, to its mildly skewed floor, to its eclectic decor items. The cabin reminded us of other homey houses of similar vintage -- it was immediately comfortable....

'We stayed two nights in cabin #5. Nicely upgraded and very clean. Great view of countryside and part of lake Henshaw. Very peaceful Thursday, but got a bit busier as Friday afternoon weekend folks rolled in. Close to lake, Julian, outdoor activities, and good restaurants.'

'We booked this location especially because it was dog friendly. We absolutely loved it and it exceeded our expectations. Paul was great and called the day we got there to make sure we didn’t have any questions and to let us know specifics. Such a quiet and relaxing area, the cabin is also very fun with all the little details. It was a pretty hot weekend, and the beds still had the winter flannel sheets, but other than that it was perfect.'

'Great little place, cute, fun location, clean and excellent value; this was our second visit - would come again ONLY IF high iron/Sulphur levels in water are resolved. Not pleasant using water that tastes like you have blood in your mouth and smells like rust ALL the time & Sulphur odor at times. This water problem has been an issue for some time with the cabins since there is a little sign about it and you can also see the rust stains on shower tile, ect. I appreciated the quick help /responses...

'What a fantastic safari-like experience! The place was very tastefully done (think senior British officer's tent in 1800s) with all modern amenities (and wifi, if you dont want to unplug). Host Lauri was very communicative and easy to work with. We'll definitely be back when we have moree dayss.'
