Unfortunately, this was one of the worst stays I’ve ever experienced.
Before arriving, I had a simple question and messaged the host, but he didn’t reply until five hours later, which was already concerning.
When we arrived at the cabin, it was immediately clear that the place had never been cleaned. It honestly felt like a crime scene. There were dirty dishes left in the sink, bed sheets thrown on the floor, beds without any sheets at all, and dirt everywhere. We even found a pair of used socks on the floor.
On top of that, the outside lights were not working, and several bedroom lights also didn’t work, leaving most of the cabin dark.
I tried multiple times to contact the host to explain the situation, but again, there was no response. I called the phone number listed for the host, and it went straight to voicemail. After leaving three voicemails, someone finally answered and said it was the wrong number and they were not the host.
This stay was supposed to be very special — it was my boyfriend’s birthday, and we had planned this night months in advance.
After a few hours, the host finally replied, apologized, and said they had forgotten to schedule the cleaning, then suggested sending a cleaning crew at 10 PM. Shortly after, a housekeeper called and said the host asked her to come clean immediately. I asked her to please tell the host to call me directly. She agreed — but the host never called and never responded again.
The entire night turned into a nightmare.
