  • Just north of Mount Desert Island on the Maine Coast, this charming cottage is the perfect New England escape. Beautifully renovated and tastefully restored, details like a large double-sided stone fireplace, cathedral ceilings, and heaps of natural light make for an inviting retreat.

    Explore nearby bike trails, or rent a kayak and spend a fun day on the water -- just steps from your deck. You'll also enjoy searching for hidden treasures in the wetlands at low tide. For more adventures, pack a picnic and spend the day at Lamoine Beach Park, less than a mile from your home.

    To experience the historic charm of New England, take a day trip to downtown Bar Harbor. Bike the old carriage roads and bask in the lovely locales. Enter your vacation home after exciting outings and you'll be greeted by a gorgeous two-sided gas fireplace with floor-to-ceiling stone surround partitions in the main living area and den on the first floor. Spend time together lounging on the comfortable furniture in the living area or the den watching your favorite shows on the 42” Roku TV. Sleek gray countertops contrast stylishly with the all-white cabinets and a tiled backsplash in the chef's kitchen, while high-end appliances include a five-burner gas range and a double oven. Prepping meals has never been more scenic with picturesque views of Eastern Bay. We walked into a clean and well appointed space with the fireplace going - as part of the temperature control (?), either way super welcoming and cozy first impression. Ocean view was amazing. We saw 7 deer walking along the waters edge over two mornings which was awesome.Kitchen was stocked with all we needed. Beds were comfortable (my oldest who struggles to sleep said he slept as well there over the three night stay as he could ever remember!), and WiFi connection and streaming was great. Bathrooms were clean with the shower in the main an exciting feature (rain, jets, and sprayer).My whole family wanted to live there.

Serenity Now

This house was great for our trip to explore Acadia and surrounding areas. The view was amazing, loved sitting outside in the morning drinking coffee. It is at least 25 minutes away from food and groceries. The upstairs rooms are very small and reminded of they are double beds. We were very disappointed with the bicycles we tried getting help from the property management company but local people never responded. The tires were flat and bicycles were very rusted. This was the only downside, everything else was great.

We love the house. The view was amazing. It was a little far driving to Acadia but not too bad. The weather was great most days. One day was pretty warm and there isn't any air conditioning but it was okay. Overall a great stay.

Beautiful Home in a Quiet Location

We stayed here for our family vacation to Acadia. The home is about a 35 minute drive to the park entrance. It’s a secluded spot on the bay (down a dirt road!), which made it feel like a lake other than the tide going in and out. It’s close to Ellsworth (about 15 minutes), which has pretty much any kind of store or restaurant you could want. We stocked up on groceries here before heading to the house. Also very close to Lemoine State Park and a small quiet lake with a beach for swimming. House was clean and exactly as described. Plenty of household necessities included. Master shower is quite impressive. We basically just had to bring our clothing and food. (Would also suggest bringing your own paper towels - the ones there are really thin.)Only issue was the outside trash from the previous occupant had not been emptied (and was not empty during our stay). Otherwise this place was perfect!There’s more space to spread out than shown in the pictures or description. Also note that they do not provide boats or sups. If you want to go out on the water, be sure to bring your own equipment. This place was amazing! I highly recommend it if you’re looking for somewhere quiet to stay while in Maine near Acadia.

Our stay in Maine

We wanted a home away from the popular areas so this was perfect. Nice looking out to the water, house is airy and has a beautiful fireplace and sunroom to enjoy. The steam shower is great. Well stocked and well labeled with everything you need plus spices and a few pantry staples. The furniture in the main room is in desperate need of replacement, and the beds upstairs are old and creaky. I would recommend the homeowners replace these items. Otherwise a great stay.

Great Location and beautiful views

Great Location and beautiful views, just 30 minutes from Bar Harbour and close to Acadia. The place is cute with big windows and spacious yard. The upstairs beds were very small and the wifi would not work for my computer, honestly we expected a bit more for the money.

Cute home but not clean

The property is well appointed and had a great layout for a family of 4. The labels on everything were super helpful. The view was beautiful. The cleanliness of the home left a lot to be desired. Upon check in we were sent a survey on the cleanliness which we rated as high because upon first glance the floors and counters were clean and it seemed quite clean. But after we were in the house for more than a day we would have rated it much lower. The master shower drain had not been cleaned out from previous renters hair/debris? and the water backed up badly which was really gross (There was a contact lens on the floor of the shower which was not ours). The other bath shower curtain was moldy. The towels had stains on them. The trash from previous renters in the outside container was never emptied so we could barely fit our trash in.

Windy but worth it

House is beautiful, stunning view! Our only problem was the weather and we left a night early because of that. Takes about 35 min to get to Acadia from here. Private road had lots of pot holes. House does have smoke/CO2 detectors (another review said it didn’t but it does). Kitchen had everything we needed and fireplace was awesome!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a great location to unwind and enjoy the area. The house is beautiful, well-appointed with lots of comfortable areas to unwind. A great kitchen which we put to good use. I would highly recommend staying here and would love to rent it again.

Beautiful home, beautiful view!

This property had the perfect mix of being secluded and being near where we wanted to be. The trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park was manageable, and the setting of the home was remote -- with visitors in the morning and evening from the local deer -- and gorgeous. Both sunsets and sunrises were spectacular, and we enjoyed evening fires by the bay. Our family of 6 would not have changed a thing!

Amazing Stay

Cozy Home on the Ocean bay. Enjoyed each morning seeing the tide in or out and looking for Tide pools. short drive to Acadia National park where we hiked each day and came back to the home to have dinner and enjoy the sun set. Whole family loved it. Close enough to the National park, but far enough away to feel like we were by ourselves. Would do it again for sure!

Beautiful private beach location with wonderful biking opportunities.

We brought our family of 4 for a safe school vacation. We spent wonderful early mornings and late nights by the water. An easy 30 min drive to Bar Harbor and into Acadia National Park. House setup was warm and wonderful for home cooking and game nights. We hope to one day return. Highly recommend for families looking to unwind!
