We have been coming to this resort for 3 years now. We absolutely love it. We are a family with younger children. It is so nice to have everything at your fingertips. The kids can enjoy the beach and pool just a few steps away. This is the highest we have ever stayed because of said kids. The view was perfect! The unit was fantastic. Everyone had plenty of space. The tub was perfect for the kids while the shower great for the adults. We went with this unit because of the personal washer and dryer. This is a necessity with kids! Condo had everything we needed. We will definitely be staying here again!

This room was stunning with a gorgeous view in all rooms!!! VERY CLEAN, kitchen stocked well, plenty of towels, and furniture was comfortable. Can’t wait to stay at this same place next summer

Okies Searchin’ for Sun

The views were unbeatable and absolutely stunning. This unit was in an easy to access location next to the main set of elevators. Kitchen was minimally stocked and every time someone showered in units around us it sounded like a ship horn blowing in the distance. Overall, a little worn but a good place to stay.

Not the same

Having stayed in this exact unit before this time was not as great as the first time. Upon arrival the couch and chair were steamed clean so they were wet and unable to be used until Monday. So from Saturday to Monday we had to sit on the floor. Rap music was playing as we were told music is put on to set the mood. But acknowledged it should not have new rap music The blinds in the master bathroom did not work. The furniture on the front deck was not what was there previously and pictured in the listing new furniture with no table to put your coffee down on. The elevators were sometimes not working on our departure date only 2 elevators worked so to depart was a challenge. This was one of our favorite places and based on this trip we will not be returning.

Be careful! Hot!

Don’t book with RealJoy! The condo was beautiful with amazing views! It was a little dusty, but that was no biggy. However, the AC was not working! They sent a guy to come fix it, but it still did not cool. We were sleeping in 78 degree. That’s too hot and you can’t cool off after being in the sun all day! They gave us an option to move to a completely different resort/location and refund us the nights AC was not working..but we were staying with other families that was booked at Pelican. So moving was not an option. We were able to book directly through pelican to find another room, which then RealJoy DISCOUNTED our nights by 50% with no AC instead of refunding us. So we still paid half plus fees for staying in a hot condo and then paid for a NEW room with new fees. I was emailing, texting, or on the phone EVERY single day while I was on vacation dealing with this! It was very frustrating and such a disservice! We will never book with RealJoy again for the hassle we went through!

Perfect Beach Vacay

We stayed here in Spring of 2023 and loved it so much we booked the same condo for our family vacation in Summer 2024. Perfect amount of space for us, loved the corner unit with balconies overlooking the pools and gulf. Made for the perfect spot to sip morning coffee and watch for dolphins or have an evening cocktail and listen to the live music at the tiki bar.

great R&R stay

About a week prior to our arrival we received information that there would be construction comencing. The pool with the beach entry was not available at all for us and that was dissapointing as they were painting the exterior while we were there. The noise was tolerable though. Just a few things that could be improved: The lock to the door was somewhat tough to figure out as it just keeps turning clockwise but never stops. It took awhile before we could be sure we had the door locked and secure. Never encountered a lock like this! One addition which would be greatly appreciated would be coffee filters available and a mornings worth of coffee provided. Better yet, upgrade to a Kurig coffee maker and be sure to tell guests to bring their own pods. I had to call management to find out what kind of coffee maker and brought some grounds but neglected to bring filters. Just troublesome to have to take care of! Otherwise, the beach, chair rentals, staff for bar and food were great. Would love to rent again!

Wonderful Family Vacation

We had a wonderful stay at Pelican 501, property was clean, view was exceptional! The first morning we woke up to no water, called the property management line and got a response right away. Found out there was a water main break that affected the whole building but it was being worked on and water was restored fairly quickly. Great responsiveness and communication. We will definitely be back.

Fall break in Destin

We had a great time on our trip! Parts of the unit seem like they recently had some nice updates! The beach was beautiful but crowded! A few disappointing things; building was showing her age and while the unit itself had some updates, you could still tell it was aged. That was why the cleanliness had 3/5 rating. The furniture is modernly nice but not high quality, very cheap made, no dining table. I would suggest renting beach chair set ups well in advance! Beach was very crowded but it was a peak time. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

Kinda disappointing

We rented this condo and was really excited until we arrived, unfortunately. The Lobby at Pelican Beach was filthy (doors, elevators, everything). Then we made it up to our unit only to be further disappointed. The room was filthy. I was took several pictures immediately and contacted Real Joy. The walls and floors were filthy, the fans were covered in an absurd amount of dust, the dishes still had food on them, there was tooth paste smeared on the door to the master and even some on the comforter of the bed. There was some yellow, sticky liquid on the walls with long black hairs stuck in them, the toilet seat was broken, the couch was broken, etc. I could go on and on. Real Joy contacted me back promptly and sent someone to fix the toilet seat. They also offered to have the cleaning service come back in but at that point, I declined because it’s clear they aren’t very good so having them come in again seemed pointless. We just told them we wanted everything noted so we weren’t charged. The kitchen (besides the dishes) and the bathrooms were clean which were my main concern. We saw two cockroaches while we were there but 1 was in the hallway (where it is open to the outside) and the other was on the outside screen of our patio. I wanted to freak out but then I read they’re common in that area & I didn’t see them inside our unit therefore I just tried to move past it. We met a few other couples who showed us similar conditions in their rooms which was disappointing. Aside from the above, the pool/hot tub area, beach area, tiki bar, etc. were wonderful! My only complaint was we saw a massive rat run in and out of the tiki bar area (while we were sitting in the more enclosed hot tub right next to the tiki bar). Again, disappointing. I understand critters will be outside, but eww. Overall, the reason we booked was for the view, the proximity to the beach and the outside experience which was nice enough for us to have a good time. RealJoy was always quick to return messages which was also a plus. Unfortunately, we will be booking a different location on our return to the area, and I hope they start taking their cleaning standards are a little more serious. I wish some kind of refund would have been offered to us for the issues, but none ever was.

Amazing!!!

Pelican Beach Resort 501 is incredible! The views cannot be beat with the floor-to-ceiling windows and it being a corner room! The unit was spotless when we arrived and appeared to be updated recently. We had no issues throughout or entire stay. We will be staying here again!
